Another point on becoming a sanyasi, as per Hindu tradition, to enter the Sanyasa-Ashrama one has to complete Gruhasta-Ashrama. Adi Shankaracharya violated this rule. But he got a boon from Lord Shiva. The second point is, one has to take the permission from wife and should not have dependent children. In this regard, Buddha violated the second rule. Buddha is not the loser, but the Sramanas, anti-Brahmins are the most prominent losers. Some theories tell Buddha as a supporter of Yagnas/Agnihotra and Brahmins. But, the so-called iconoclast group label Buddhism to the contrary. Even Ashoka was Hindu more so a strong supporter of Brahminism. His stone carvings in today's Pakistan prove this. Buddha is an incarnation of Vishnu and never any Hindu rituals or practices. Bali does not necessarily mean killing animal though it is also a part of it. There are several non-animal Balis. Samsara is not for everyone bro, and there is no way to know that beforehand. Buddha's childhood was mostly spent inside the four walls of aristocracy and thus his exposure to outside was limited. He learnt about society and it's sufferings only later after marriage...he couldn't stand it. DO you think his wife and children would be happy if she continued to live with them despite he doesn't like worldly attachments? It would have caused worse pain to them. Thread title too bad too worst. Hinduism is not about Gods and Cosmic Power. It is a science of social living. Dharma, Karma and Rebirth. Every living thing has a Duty. The Actions should follow the Duty. Any Actions outside of the Duty are apparently Punishable, and therefore, there exists this Human-life, that is meant to Suffer the wrath of Bad Karma. Easy micro strategy for micro-managing division of labor amongst a tribe. Spread the word, bring in more tribes, cities, kingdoms and empires are alive solely based on the doctrine of Dharma. Buddhism questioned this very explanation of Suffering in a Human-life form, based of Dharma, Karma and Rebirth. The philosophy of Agnosticism was thus born. Everything is make-believe, There are no Dharma, Karma, BS stuff. Desire, and not Dharma, is the cause for Suffering. Such a profound yet simple explanation. Do what you like, just common-sense not to destroy other living beings. If Hinduism was Communism, Buddhism was Socialism. Although Hinduism's core idea was terribly shaken, Buddhism never intended a huge threat. Buddhism gained traction and popularity much later after Asoka embraced it, and redefined his personality as a Peaceful Emperor, despite having waged the most brutal war in the history of India against Kalinga as a Hindu Emperor. Also, Jainism was born much earlier than Buddhism, and much later than Hinduism, however, Jainism never questioned Hinduism's core doctrines of Dharma. Hinduism did feel threatened by Buddhism's answers to unexplainable questionable teachings surrounding Karma, Rebirths and Suffering. However, pretty soon Hinduism remained peaceful, and all Religions born in India coexisted, unlike Abrahamic Religions born much later in Israel. TLDR; In today's western context, Buddha probably suffered Social Anxiety, Depression, Schizophrenia, Vitamin B12 and D3 deficiencies etc, but he certainly was not a Loser, nor Selfish. He only went on a noble pursuit outside the doctrines of his Hindu-Dharma, as a Husband, Father, Son, Prince etc etc, and peacefully redefined Hinduism itself. We know cow, goat and camel milk is OK, but cats and dogs and even horses is not OK because somebody in history would have certainly died and their close associates may have recorded the findings. Some sacrifices in history is why Carl Sagan could have described our planet as the Pale Blue Dot, and Elon Musk hurled his Tesla Roadster toward Mars' orbit. "Chill Bro. Valla personal quest kosam sacrifice (?) chesi vellaru ..: after achieving that goal and knowledge they came back to spread it ... An apt analogy would be a Premji or gates giving back to society after reaching the summit of their quest ! Here's what I find REALLY interesting in this whole buddhist history - was there really a contest between the two religions? was one out-competed or out-maneuvered by the other? Hinduism grew by inclusion...by literally "acquiring" / "claiming" local cults or tribal Gods..just like corporations acquiring other corporations..that's why there are many unlikely Gods in hinduism like our recent Shirdi Sai and thalupulamma thalli / mavullamma thalli / peddintlamma thalli whatever thalli / ammoru not related to primary Gods.... anyway, why didn't Buddha become a God within Hinduism? this may be because buddhism was quickly accepted as an independent religion because of anti incumbency and/or because there was a prolonged contest between the two religions that prevented hinduism from forcibly taking over buddhism.. buddhudu mana sava laksha devullalo okadu enduku avaledu? | ||

Buddha tried both extreme ways in order to find truth like torturing himself as well as , nothing like having no food, etc one day when he was almost dying a lady offered him food then he realized it's not good to go either ways and follow a middle path, he did not teach us leave family out and go in to jungles, he taught us be in the society And practice non attachment. "Buddha" was like a much needed 'correction' to an out of the bounds bull market..the system and the religion at that time was in the clutches of regressive thinking and was dominating people's lives.... the world needed a Buddha...Hinduism needed a Buddha to correct its course in a way hinduism survived because of Buddha.....it is he who introduced the concept of vedanta to masses..it is because of him that a lot of 'violent' rituals were replaced by symbolic equivalents (like replacing narabali concept with kobbari kaya, replacing rakta tilakam with kumkuma tilakam etc)..it is in a way because of his then popular ideas that adi shankara was motivated to re-introduce a more nuanced hinduism.. if it was not for Buddha, Hinduism would've probably collapsed on its own weight - burdened by its archaic thinking and rituals.. SOOO..he doesn't seem like a 'loser' to me no matter how i look at it..yes, his ideas / religion would've been seemingly driven away from india..but that's not what happened - his ideas were included in Hinduism and gave it a much needed reality check.. | ||
