Emergency ante if you are going today or tomorrow. If you are going on 23rd Feb its not emergency. Indian consulate will not even look at you. I know a case where they had flight ticket on Sunday 1pm in chicago they went on saturday to get visa they made to come on Sunday and gave visa. If your Indian trip is for less than 30 days apply for online visa you will get in 2-3 days. incase if you are going on emergency, then go to New York/Chicago Indian consulate office, your emergency Visa will be issued on the same day. I think you need to provide some proof to justify the need for the emergency. | ||

If you have American passport, why can't you apply for OCI card, in the OCI card process they will cancel your Indian passport before issuing OCI. I don't think it's legal carrying two countries passports. | ||

Deal with emergency and then surrender passport in indian passport office..get ffro clearence travel back with usa passport.. You can go with Indian passport.(for upto 3 months after receiving your US passport)...but when you apply for Indian Visa ,Surrender your Indian Passport or apply for OCI card,you need to pay fee of around $275 for every such trip you made using Indian passport | ||
