I am always for debt control. Clinton had a chance to get pay all national debt but choose not to. There was a rationale explanation for that. At the end of his term, it went to 5 trillion Bush took it to 10 trillion with 2 wars Obama took it to 19 trillion with no wars. Now you know why conservatives like me hate him Where did you get the numbers from. Defense budget is 15%-17% only. Every year we have 600 trillion deficit which should be stopped first. If I’m not wrong our debt is 20Trillion dollars, tax revenue is 3.5T out of which non-defense discretionary spending is 10-15%. So how much of this discretionary spend can you cut to repay the debt. Even if you cut all that discretionary spending it will take 50yrs to pay off debt assuming no interest. We are no different that Greece or PIGS ( Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain) 4-5 yrs back. | ||
