I just heard the same from wotSA-pp too. Technically thats correct If you open their site, prepare the application, the fees would be decided. Once you are done the application process online, there is no new fee collection etc. Technically you have applied. Only the process(of sending docs etc) would follow further. But if you open their site on or after 1st jan, the fee shown would be different... | ||

I think I did a sweet mistake by including the ORIGINAL PIO(it it goes wrong, it would become a hot mistake though). As per the documents check list, I have included the original PIO card in the application. CKGS sent an email that I have given extra documents(which is original PIO card). come and collect it on XYZ date and time. I have replied saying that " I have submitted it as per the document check list. Keep it with you till you need it." When I am checking, in the work flow, once the PIO card is approved, they will ask us to ship the original PIO card(as per their tracking steps online). Which is already with them. So, the sweet part is that, this bunch of sending the original PIO is not required. The hot part is if they lose the original PIOs in the mean time :-) lets see.. | ||

if not govt copies, what else should notarize... where did she get the license from.. ask her to fill the water full of a table spoon to jump into.. Any original doc should be verified with its copy and notarize it. Best bet for you is to get the passport copy notarized today and drop it in the post (easy fix) ASAP. Matter of total $5 or less. | ||

1) After you get Govt final application PDF, keep a copy of it, you cant get it from ckgs my account page again. Once you stick in the Govt form number into the CKGS, you are prettymuch done. 2)Yes, OCI application is the one chocked out of the Government Web Site. 3) Take copies of PIO first, last pages( I did it so that total 4 pages comes on two papers), write //Self Attested and sign(you and your lovely wife both) on the white part next to the photocopies on both the papers. Also include the original OCI card, pack it nicely and clap twice.. you are done with that part. | ||

once we fill the application and upload documents on gov site, i linked my gov reference no with the ckgs ref. no and after that there is nothing to fill out on ckgs site? i got to the page to print fed ex page after linking. At last I've shipped our kid's last Friday. Yes, I did include the original PIOs in the first shipment. In any event, eventually we need to give the original PIO cards (at least in the Match-up stage) as the new PIO nullifies the existing OCI. I was reluctant to apply this time also but home department pressured to get it out. Also I did one of our kid's passport renewal before this application as if I need to re-apply for OCI (after issuing it) if the underlying passport gets renewed..
