Most of the oil business head quarters are in downtown. Infact they are forming a group to see options for class action law suit on the engineer corps, county and state on the flood zone and insurance point. Pavements andi lots of pavements...too much development in sugarland in recent years...concrete everywhere and water has no ground to absorb into. The reason we are lucky was because we had miles of plain grasslands with lots of trees in our neighbor hood behind our backyard and that absorbed all the rain...and of course we also dont have a creek nearby. We are doing fine, thanks. I guess woodlands was not that affected relatively. But couple of my friends got evacuated in the Humble area because of San jacinto overflow - but they are going back today. Many roads are fine now, especially north houston. The areas around addicks and barker reservoirs are flooded but most of the people are evacuated. Same is the case with cypresswood area. South houston is totally different game now - almost all neighbor hoods around Brazos are pretty much gone beyond repair. Don't text and drive ! | ||

My sister's family is in Sugarland. When I asked them to come over before the hurricane, they brushed it off with thier experinace from 10 yaers back with Rita and Kathrina and now they are stuck. Yesterday they tried to come to Austin but their SUV stalled and later all roads are closed. A good Samaritan, dropped them off at friends place and we are all hoping things clear out. | ||

I have never seen nature's fury first hand...this shit is scary af.
