Plz chck again..he played in first test in adelaide where we lost on 5th day Dont say decent run when u dont hav atleast one matchwinning innings like karun or rahul...u can term decent only when u already made a name of urself....rohit failed in most of the innings he played...if kohli aftr his wonderful knocks manages any series vd avg 35/40 u can call it decent taking into account his previous works...here rohit never managed to score a century in testing conditions to give him a pass..sl series in 2015 was the series where he shld make a mark for himself but he failed der vdout any clutch innings forget abt gigantic score!!! | ||

1. He played only one test(4th one) in Australia, and it was because Dhoni stepped down from tests after the 3rd test. Rohit scores in that test are 53&39. Played all 3 test matches against Sri Lanka and had a decent run in the low-scoring series. Was a regular till the injury. He was nowhere dropped. 2. Southee/Boult are much better and have way better records in India/Asia than home bullies Anderson/Broad. There is a reason why Anderson is called "Clouderson" and did you know Broad's average in India before the last series? It was an atrocious 110+. The spinner Mitchell Santner is a quality and ran through India once, albeit in a t20. Gully spnners Rahid/Ali are no match for Santner/Sodhi. Now tell me, which is the superior bowling team? As I mentioned, these are the same set of bowlers that made their team drew series against Pakistan in Asia(UAE). Now tell me, which the superior bowling attack? | ||

he was selected for 2014 aussie tour and 2015 SL tour and tried in first few matches nd dropped subsequently bcoz of loose shots and horrendous performance...he was given full series opportunity only against NZL bcoz it is safe and dey r good for nothing..tell me who is the worldclass spinner/pace bwler in NZL to succeed in indian conditions?none!nair scored triple century against likes of anderson and broad dattoo in his very second/third match which speaks volumes about the temperament and yes he may need to improve in few aspects...tell me once good gigantic performance frm rohit in his so called short career of 21?none!except few flash in the pan innings against the likes of NZL/windies...etc..he failed in bouncy conditions like aus and spin conditions like SL and partially succeeded in flat tracks in India which sumsup his potential and talent! | ||

It took some time for Rohit to get settled in ODIs. It was only after Rohit was moved to open, he lived upto his potential. He averages over 50 in ODIs as opener spanning across more than 100 matches. That's some feat. But in tests, he is lambasted despite not getting many opportunities. Let's give him 2-3 series and see what happens. He has talent as he often displays in shorter formats and add to that, has a great FC record. Karun Nair got serious flaws against pace; happy that selectors saw it and dropped him rightfully. The thing is when players like Mukund getting calls into the test squad, it just proves that there aren't many standout performers in FC circuit. New Zealand in the ONLY NON-ASIAN team to draw a series in ASIA in the last 5 years. They are not as bad as you make them out to be. That NZ series was the only FULL SERIES Rohit has played in his short career so far and silenced his critics. But people have a short memory and forgotten as the time passed by. Hope he gets to play all tests against Sri Lanka, cements his place and gives no room for flak anymore. | ||

Don't get some of the criticism Rohit is getting here. Have you even followed all the test series India have played in the past one year? Rohit had a fabulous series against New Zealand averaging over 80 before he got injured unfortunately which made way for Karun Nair to get into the test squad in place of him. It wasn't just about average of 80 in that series, he played some crucial knocks with the tail and rescued India. That was very uncharacteristic of him. Thought he was finally getting the hang of test cricket, but alas luck wasn't with him. Karun Nair since that triple century has been absolutely horrendous and has clear weaknesses against pace. We all know Rahane, despite being one of the best players we have when playing abroad, is horrific against spin. Only the top four of India, Vijay/Rahul/Pujara/Kohli, is settled for now. Rohit is clearly better than Nair everywhere and also better than Rahane IN India/Asia. | ||

Rohit in test team is a joke...he neither got technique to succeed in top order in testing conditions lyk swing, spin nor got temperament to play in middle/lower order where major part of innings involves shielding tailenders and wrkngout partnerships....his hitting 'talent' can only help in flattracks for pushing the score frm 500 to 550-600 within notime..but but on flattracks extra bwlr would be more than helpful dan batter who can hit quickfire 50-60 better our mngmnt realize dis and limit dis 'talent' to limitedovers format so that he can beefup the average by playing on flatdecks and fail in testing conditions which we are already accustomed/expectations are clear.... | ||
