Won't manufacturers source materials from GST compliant vendors? Won't they engage the services of GST compliant service providers? If they do, they'd get the benefit of input credits and pass on the benefits in the form of reduced base prices. Previously each state had different rates.... the purpose of GST is to create a single market across India...so rates will be uniform....as a result some states will see the rise and some will see fall in rates. | ||

if you are buying an apartment you need to pay gst of 12 percent now , earlier it was service tax at 6 percent or 5 something. you mean to say dont worry for that. all services are taxed at now 12 percent , earlier it was 5 percent. so all services will be taxed more. GST lo pros and cons anni vuntia. its not soemthing which is good only. it has its own pros and cons. | ||

I can share a link from Times of India but frankly, it is utter non-sense as it doesn't even attempt to estimate the value of input credits. So it ends up only talking about what happens to the Tax at the point of consumption. It says nothing about what effect we can expect on the base trip (pre-tax). The fact is that it is extremely hard to estimate for those who are not in the business. We would have know all that about the inputs used and their prices and also the percentage of black transactions in the supply chain for that and competing produts/services.
