It is not matter of whether they are hypocrites are not, they might very well be but so is our Government and People's actions. On one hand the GOI issues to visas for these artists and they are welcomed by their respective art fraternity and on the other people keep judging them based on some actions of Pak government or some other organizations of the country. They are not in India for an indian citizenship, they are here to sell their art, or learn their art, they are still pakistanis. It is not an official war time yet, and they can stay as long as their visa permits. It is on Indian government to protect them while they are in the country. | ||

Our culture is known for its acceptance & assimilation of other cultures. That is what I want my country to be known for - a symbol of tolerance. This 'gesture', in my mind, doesn't align with our values. This right wing idea is convenient to subscribe to at this time but it does more damage than good to our country. First it offers no significant economic impact in terms of sanctions, Second it creates racial frictions between our own people, Third it alienates those people who really did not have anything to do with those attacks and finally it damages our image as a tolerant nation. honestly I don't think we can compare school massacre with this incident..children are children anywhere - innocent, not attributable to any nationalistic or political agendas...whereas soldiers, unfortunately, are tools of a nations political and military agenda so it doesn't evoke the same emotion I am personally more saddened by the murder of kids in a hostile country than the murder of our soldiers..it is the truth that I cannot deny Anyway, our soldiers may be dear to us but not so dear to immigrants from other countries..so to expect the same kind of response from them is to expect a LOT..I think the issue is our expectations | ||
