50-50 antha split undadu...desi agents usually start with a smaller firm before joining a company like Keller Williams. Nenu vinnadhi Keller Williams takes a 30% cut until you reach a pre-set limit (it takes about 10 transactions to get there). After that, the agent can keep 100% of the commission. This calculation gets reset at the start of every year.

Ippudu cons...I think it will be a declining profession. Airline agents laaga rapid ga ellipotaaru anukunna...but the decline has been much much slower than expected.

Oka decade back...every one use to work for 3% commission...ippudu most of Desi, Chinese, other immigrant agents work for 1% and they get most of the volume. Even Redfin only charges 1.5%. Dallas lo I hear there are agents that work for 1500 flat fee for complete transaction + $ 50 per trip.

Huge variation. Seattle lo average home will be 600k...so 6K per sale. Some of them will only sell 1 home per month...appudu 72K....some will sell 6 homes per month...appudu 400k+. Both categories choosanu. Expenses untayi...brokerage company fee of 500 per transaction type and travel.

Quite a few working moms becoming agents...to have flexible working hours. They tend to do fewer transactions.

Successful agent has to be alert and active 24x7. Any time of the day client home choodamu ante within 1-2 hours respond avvali, preparing an offer or following up with other agents response time should be in 1-2 hours.

Becoming an agent fairly simple...few weeks prep tho edho exam raasi they join one of the real estate firms. Almost all desi agents work for 1% comission. So, if they get about 20-30 sales per year...they would earn a full time salary. Successful agents sell 60-70 per year.
