They're directly related. feeding private prisons for benefitting a few, you send your own population down the drain. Once the prisoner has a record, they're ineligible for decent work, and have to live with substandard jobs and quality of life. For the mentally weak, they simply relapse, cuz it's better inside the prison. system then uses this to show that they have caught career criminals and tough on crime. Yay!!! I agree with this hypocrisy. Media is mostly pro liberal and pretty much every one gets it. I think blaming Reps as war Hawks was political strategy without merit. Some of these are necessary interventions doesn't change with who is in office. We can talk in hindsight as we have luxury of judging the result. Some of these may have turned out disastrous for humanity if they have not intervened . We only know about terror events that happened, we will never about the ones that are prevented. I still believe there is significant rationalization, checks and balances in terms of US foreign policy. I love a world without any war. I understand what you are saying here but in terms of Human rights consciousness, US is reasonable. They may not be equal to fundemental rights enjoyed by citizens in the territory. This is the nation where president approval ratings fall if a terrorist is tortured( of course the rhetoric lately is scary but I am saying in general pre trump days). How can we say there is not awareness for human rights !! We can't look back history to judge these kind of things. World wars are different era and world learnt a lot from that. Several horrible things happened. What happened in 50's and 60's ( or even before) doesn't represent US now. The modus operandi changed. US has taken moral responsibility of world keeper and doing a decent job. Latest trends of isolationism are a bit concerning but that aside I believe world is on a progressive path. | ||
