Every country creates new words which r not grammatically correct but will be used as per context, including Americans. For example... what exactly REST ROOM mean??? to me it means u gonna take rest in tht room.. but thts not the context for Americans... Just coz we create certain words for our own convenience doesn't mean we r anyway lower than Americans in English speaking. | ||

I dont see nothing wrong with prepone, if its not already there, then its time we insert this into the dictionary. Well, "prepone" is part of oxford dictionary though Indian in origin. Why should we feel ashamed of using it ? There is a lot of slang, or deliberate incorrect way used in office settings by every-day americans too - depending on their origin within US. And, in my experience they are used to people from different cultures, and don't mind the usage as long as the essence is conveyed. | ||

that wasn't my intention and I don't think OP's was either.. he was just saying he has been using those phrases without realizing those are either not well known or incorrect. If we are talking to other Desis, then I think there is nothing wrong in using any of those phrases as the other party knows what we mean. But when we are conversing with non-Desis, it is better to use words/phrases which are understood by them.... ala kakunda bochule naaku vachindi nenu matladuta nenu ide nerchukunna ani undadu ani naa thokkalo sodi | ||
