Police say two people have died in a shooting on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles. The school confirmed Wednesday morning that police are on the scene at Boelter Hall, a science building, and that the campus is on lockdown. EMS personnel have responded to the scene as well. âTwo people were shot,â university spokesman Tod Tamberg told the Los Angeles Times. Multiple sources reported that both of those people were dead, including CBS News and NBC News. Los Angeles Police Officer Tony Im said an active shooter is reportedly still unaccounted for. Students were directed to walk out of one building in a line with their hands above their head, while others were asked to stay in a lockdown, the Times wrote. Armed officers have blanketed the campus. Local police have requested the assistance of the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacca, Firearms, and Explosives. |
