One of main reasons for Rama avataram is for sama samaja sthapana, varna bedhalani poortiga nirmulinchadaniki avataranchadu apart from asura samharan. Rama sets the example with his simple living, sticking to principles and setting an example to the rest of the society by his behaviour. Ahalya issue lo asalu there are too many interpretations or versions available 1. she did not know it was Indra as he came like gowtama 2. she did know but let it happen thinking that Lord of world is mad after her. 3. she did know but waited and did not let anything happen until gowtama came and then indra fled. Ahalya brahma putri, was put in Gautama's care as an infant, ahalya grows up in to a beautiful woman and yet gautama does not get attracted to her, indra is as usual enamoured with her and pursues her agressively. Brahma decides to give her in marriage to gautama due to the restraint shown by gautama . Gautama and ahalya have a child but Indra does not let go. The real story starts getting muddy here due to different versions of the story Ramudu as purushottama recognizes the human emotions and also the fact that ahalya went through a long penance and is purified by her repentance. In the case of Sita already some reasons have been given already. Most important amongst them are that Rama established sama samajam and considered prajalu as the real masters and he was a servant. If some of the people started saying it then more would follow and soon it would destroy the samajam he so much sought to establish. pati dharmam lo bhagam gaa safe place lo dimpaaDu. For a king the first priority is always prajalu. That's why king's wife is called paTTa mahishi (even if one has multiple wives, only one is paTTapu raaNi). Remember that dharma applies to Sita as well since she is sworn in as well along with Rama. So what ever decision has been taken as per dharma she is part of it and if she were to take a decision may be same would have been the result dharmam mariyu dharma sooksham ani rendu untayi. so certain things need to be inspected much deeper. in ayodhya kanda when dasaradha asks sumantra to stop the radham, rama says go ahead. Now sumantra has to listen to rama as he is in radham and he has to listen to Rama only. What Rama did is as per Kshatriya dharma. When a King is sworn in, he is sworn in along with his dharma patni as per our Sanatana dharma. In modern world also pretty much same thing is followed. IMO....there is a lot of fact + fiction...I belive Rama lived and Ramayana happened, but not to the extent that they had super powers, etc. Same with Mahabharatha..Ibelieve Kurukshetra happened but not to the extent of Krishna lifting a hill with his finger etc. There were great people and we glorify them and probaly over time add some fiction & myth because there we no tv's/entertainment in that age..people had to use their imagination and the most common theme as we see now even in SSR's movie is good vs. bad where the good wins at the end.. to me instead of figuring out if the stories were real/fake, it is better to get some moral out of it and leave them because...even if they all are fake, they still make for good literature.. | ||

Regarding Rama sending Sita to forest: Because Rama sent Sita to forest, no one is questioning her integrity now. Rather, the discussion has always been about how Rama took a cruel decision to abandon her. Had Sita been accepted and not sent to the forest, I am sure that even now some one amongst would still dare to question her integrity.... Again this only forms the drama in the story, the moral is that the world as we see it is filled with gossipmongers and we have to carefully consider eveyr step in our life or else we will pay for it later. Had Sita listened to Rama/Lakshmana about the golden deer she wouldn't have faced this situation at the end. It also tells about the butterfly effect in a way, as to how a small change in a young age would lead to huge consequence at a different time, which has & will happen in the future to all generations irrespective of time, age, gender & culture.. | ||

Ahalya was at fault. Gautama understands his wife and tells her that she committed a mistake because of impure thoughts. SHe has to purify herself to be accepted by gautama again. Purity of our thoughts come from our surroundings including the food we eat, society we live in, air we breathem thoughts we think etc. so he curses her to be devoid of all of these for a period of time and tells her to live like a stone which she does. After which, Rama happens to pass by the path where lives as a stone and when the feet a great noble soul touches this stone, she takes back her previous form as Ahalya wife of Gauthama.. again this is the drama of the story, but the moral is that even if a grave mistake is committed, through penance we can purify our soul and still be accepted in the society rather than just being punished..because true liberation comes from introspection but not punishment.. | ||

Isn't it contradictory to what Rama did with Sita at later time then? If he believes in such thought process (look beyond) then he shouldn't have sent Sita to forest.. u might say he followed common ppl's verdict Even if you go with ppl choice as the reason - there are many examples in ramayana where Rama strongly opposes people's beliefs, sentiments or traditions and follows what he truly believes.
