Chandrababu Naidu set a deadline of three years for the completion of Optic Fiber Grid in the state. During a review meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to begin the works by Dasara this year and complete them by 2018. The fibre grid is one of the five grids which will ensure broadband connectivity to all households in the state. âFiber Grid must be put to full utilization in sectors like education, medicine, agriculture, rural development, e-governance, e-commerce and digital literacyâ, the Chief Minister added. In a presentation to the Chief Minister, IT Advisor J. Satyanarayana informed the Chief Minister that the project requires Rs 4,660 crores. In this, the union governmentâs share is Rs. 3,840 crores (as part of the National Optic Fibre Network - NOFN) and the state government must allot Rs. 820 crores.
