I worked for pricewaterhousecoopers as an FTE & for federal employee program as a contractor. At PWC, it was a very professional experience. For the most part, I reported to white managers who were very professional and made me charge for every hour worked. Work and only work related convos.

Being a contractor, I didn't care however our customers soon realized that it was not possible to deliver that magnitude of work in regular hours. Anand_n: I still think it's shortsighted - today's bill rate is tomorrow's liability when you have to promote him to manager..
Logically companies shouldn't be hiring such people but its very easy to replace people in India so as long as the salary meets the margins of the project they'll be hired.
These kinda of people are shafted from the org. before they get into a manegerial role. Even in the next org. the same process; rinse repeat. Somewhere down the line his skill set & bill rate won't match; thats when he has to eat his pride taking a cut in his salary. I see a lot of 35+ folk going through this cycle.

i was pissed of with my PM (tella lady) while working as contractor for one of the major banks in clt. so one fine afternoon i gave my 2 week notice in email and ccd the vendor.

vendor:- good luck on your future project. since you are leaving would you be able to refer any one you know to replace you.
me:- i am not going to refer any one for this position. I hate my manager and I do not have anything good to tell about this manager.

second company better aa antey, during bubble burts join ayya, product dev company
9-6 - 6 days a week, guarantee gaa sunday vocchentha work icchey vallu
6 perukey kani, 6 kevvadaina velithey next day andari mundhu adigey varu
endukellav ninna 6 ki, govt company anukuntunnava ani
oka project kosam 9-3am continuous gaa 2.5 months work chesanu nenu, never complained
the only thing i did wrong was getting personal with bosses, which you should never ever do especially in India |

services side worst management vuntadi...I was a project lead in CTS and I was told by my manager..12 hours work ivvali vallaki....8 hours lo elli poniku ani...but OT pay chesthara ante ledu....but ofcourse vallu junk kabatti 12 hours kaadu 24 hours work chesina liberal estimates kooda meet ayye vallu kaadu..adhi different story... |
