Not for all phones.....only for one specific phone and that too with court search warrant. As long as govt gets the information through a legal court order no one should have a problem. If govt is asking for a backdoor to snoop on all phones without any reason that would be a breach of privacy. This is not that case. | ||

Isn't this dangerous if updated for all phones? Anybody can get access to a phone and keep entering all possibilities of numbers. 4 digit pins 0000 to 9999. 10K combinations. 6 digit pins 000000 to 999999. 1 Million combinations. *** They should just help unlock one phone. This will set a precedence for unlocking with a warrant. Otherwise it is open season for law and all. | ||

Apple is wrong in this case. FBI is not asking to create a backdoor to spy on all apple users. It is asking to create a software update for a specific iphone which belongs to a terrorist. They have a court order for it. FBI is not asking for a decryption key. They simply are asking to be allowed to enter the password unlimited times. | ||

court order isthe cheyali, there is no privacy above the court order, you don't need a backdoor program, its apples software, public key and private keys are created by them, they know the mechanism | ||

I do not think that this is just about unlocking that particular iPhone. They wanted to apple to develop a backdoor program to unlock the iPhones without user's consent(Per NPR). Manaki pedda teda vundadu kaani, ikkada privacy is very important for some people. | ||
