I WAS a hardcore Anti-Apple till few years back... messed up with old palm, windows phones etc.. At one point wifey pressured me to buy an iPho and ended up in buying 4S.. appudappudu ee 4S tho play chestu... evetually felt I want one..(ease of use for what a phone is for). Bought my own 4S. Wifey donated it to her brother back in India(without my knowledge) then bought 5S. In the mean time, I ended up landing with a client who only works with Mac... initially one week bit confusion with keyboard etc.. but later.. it was like another world for development(multiple servers, bash shell... Git, Gradle.. Groovy, Spark with Scala..) all worked together without any issue on MacBook Pro.. Now, I have not been using any of my windows machines for many years(I have spent good money on assembling Windows i5 machine with 32GB ram few years back, its also catching dust now).

So, "Once you go Mac, You never go back"

there is some learning curve... but, once you get used to it, you don't go back.

My daughter is brought up with mac and she feels restricted in front of windows... just a little bit of practice is all needed

Cocanada:

heard good things abt Mac hardware and OS X

Best Ultrabooks -
http://www.techradar.com/news/mobile-computing/laptops/best- ultrabook-18-top-thin-and-lights-1054355

Cheapest variety Macbooks comparison -
http://www.apple.com/mac/compare/results/?product1=macbook&p roduct2=macbook-pro-retina-13

Hands-down, Macbooks are cheaper than Ultrabooks for outstanding hardware configurations...
Kallakaddukuni 13-inch, Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM, Retina Display for $1299 set cheyi... nee browsing and fun kosam idi chaalaa ekkuva...
light on shoulders antaavaa.. that depends and ultrabooks are definitely lighter but retina display macs are typically thinner and lighter anyhow, not as much as ultrabooks though, but the difference shouldn't really matter that much...

4 years nunchi both work and personal kosam using macbooks ye...
Highly Overrated, Overpriced, and definitely better than Windows, of course comparing with XP and never worked on Vista, 7, 8 and 10, but still, Linux Kernel on Mac is good...
Hardcore programming geek ayithe tappithey... mac is not much use, and Windows should suffice, both budget and utility wise...
Linux is vastly used as the Core Kernel for many Computational Platforms, unlike Windows with it's NT Kernel.. so programming interfacing most certainly works faster and better...

even though i am a big steve/apple fan and own all versions of iphones.. never tried mac so far

last time i had to work on mac for sometime at an event.. i was clueless for a bit.. keyboard is different with some new keys/symbols.. didn't know how to right click for properties or go to task manager type process list to kill something

In windows we can troubleshoot in and out by going into registry or profile etc if needed. Not sure how that works in mac

i think there will be some learning curve but not sure whether it is worth it
Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein
