Ayurveda is purely based on natural herbs based on their medical values they have. The reason why it is diminishing is these herbs are loosing those medical values over the period of the time due to various factors. There are very few branded companies that produce medicines from right herbal sources. Also Ayurveda is not a generic medicine that like tylenol works for every pain. Its differnt to each individual based on body structure. This science is for sure works as long as we get the right combination of doctors who can recognize your body structure, prescribe a right combination of medicine and then get the right herbs which can cure it. to put it simply, two points.. 1. bacteria are complex organims...so, there are a lot of components in a bacteria against which u can direct an antibiotic....viruses are extremely primitive...basically they are nucleic acids and live inside the host cells...it's a bit tough to target them.. 2. they mutate a lot and rapidly...so, even if u develop a drug, it may not stay effective for long... having said that, things are getting better slowly...for example, we can cure hepatitis C now...can't cure every patient....but if the patient the patient can tolerate the drugs without any major side effects and if he is compliant, then the cure rate is pretty good..... there are vaccines for many viruses, for ex hepatitis b....polio vaccine has done wonders... flu vaccine is a nuisance...u have to update it every year and give a flu shot to the entire population every year.....and even then the efficacy is not the best...u can read about "Antigenic shift" and "antigenic drift"....interesting stuff... | ||

I also admit that there is an inherent problem with scientific philosophy, and also statistical methods used for drug approvals. but its our best shot. I never trusted ayurvedic medicine, but my roomie suffered from digestive track issues for years, to the extent that he was living on yogurt based food for months at a stretch. look...there is no cure for dengue.. treatment for dengue is "supportive"....you just treat the symptoms and if the patient is severly ill, you provide life supporting measures until they recover, and most of the time they do recover, because it is a self limiting disease...with proper supportive treatment, the mortality rate is very low.......if u think papaya or whatever helps a bit in the supportive treatment, fine...take it, along with the other treatment.....no issue there....but the problem is...this fucxker is claiming that he can "cure" dengue with his magic potion....."virus ni poorthigaa arikattavachu" anta.... | ||
