I have used Railtel in Blore, it is only available to areas where there is a railway track. You cannot extend that network beyond the rail zone. It is also very unreliable when it comes to connectivity. There are some serious issues with that network and cannot be used as the base infrastructure to extend to companies. With the type of internet traffic we are expecting Rail Tel would no suffice the needs. | ||

This is the best initiative from the current government. You have to think decades ahead to come up with a plan like this. This will catapult the e-commerce development in the state. Smart Cities/Villages/Towns ki biggest key is information sharing. For information sharing we need Internet backbone. If you allow private parties they will only do profit based so they will obviously will not include towns/villages in their Internet push. Govt obviously has lay down the infrastructure backbone to provide the facilities to the companies/people. If every phone in the state has access to wi-fi imagine the ecommerce possibilities.
