Few guys posted "everyone goes at 90 or 100 or more in that highway".. Why should an individual follow everyone else?? If everyone else is doing wrong (which everyone knows) why should one follow?? For the road conditions in India going above 70KMPH is absolute fatal. PERIOD. add the unexpected drivers bikes, autos, tractors, cycles, pedestrians etc., to this. When I hire a car in India I make sure he goes not beyond 60/65. Only one warning. Second time he crosses the limit. I get off the car, no money paid good luck. This is first agreement i come with driver before he starts the car. Same applies when I drive the car in US. no more than 10 MPH than posted limit that too in dry conditions (no rain etc.,). In US, local speeds are 45 MPH which is 72 KMPH and at that speed we can normally control the car unless a sudden impact hit or have to suddenly stop. Braking distance can be in at least 30-40 feet. Think about the normal speeds in India hardly 45KMPH in city which is nothing but 28 MPH and high ways lo 65-70KMPH which is 45 MPH speed. In my last trip I argued left and right but only family member itself never listened. In Detroit there was an accident where a car full of passengers, were driving normally but a person who came in wrong way hit the car head on and all of them died. So in this case what could they do? How would if at all they were rash drivers in past would justify their accident? The fate comes and nothing can be done. Its an unfortunate incident, that a person comes totally clueless opposite your way, even though he would have driving at 80-100kmph also might have met an accident. When a person is not living anymore, taking his past doesn't make sense mainly when this accident as it seems is not relevant to his past and happened because of tractor coming in wrong way and the person couldn't see in time to avoid accident. There is no correlation of whatever he has done in past is what I am trying to say. Also not every high speed driving is rash driving. If the person dies due to rash driving, your quotes, examples would have been relevant. For people like me it sounded that he is a habitual bad driver and what happened today was due to his habitual past, even though reports are telling otherwise, so the resistance you are seeing today.

Music fan and brain drain As a matter of fact It's here in USA as well we indians are very self centric The best example I give when I am learning driving in USA My friend who is teaching me he did his MS here. He did excellent job the way he taught me. Except one or two instances. But that irritated me a lot One instance is on the I am driving and my friend sitting in passenger seat It's my second long drive in USA and we r on the way to Dallas I took exit to have lunch. After lunch we came back into SUV U stared car and put riverse gear but by mistakenly pressed gas instead of break SUV Super accelerate ayyi venal ki ellindi Pedda jurk tho luckily no body behind us Me in shock Ofcourse he does too. He shouted like hell. I got so much angry on him on that trip I did not even touch steering He keep on saying its luck we r living etc anta With in few days when we t on the way back home he crossed red lights. It happened few times after That incident and he is the driver and me passenger I literally laughed at him sarcastically Said u seems to be perfect driver etc Those instances also we r lucky as no vehicle coming from left or right side otherwise we will be in heaven or hell. My God !! I cannot understand why is that few people in this DB see everything with such a cynical attitude. Dear Musicfan and the so called sensible guys who felt that I am making a mockery of Janikram's character or making fun of his accident long back in 2011...please read my lines before jumping to unwanted & unreasonable consclusions. I cannot justify to everyone who thinks my post was in a bad taste...but for one last time..I am only trying to share my past experience about this person whom I felt would have being a RASH DRIVER by nature (which I substantiated with a 1st hand evidence of my brother). Now laughing at what happened in 2011, was highlighted in my post to respond to Mr.Risiing Star, just to tell that we felt if he should hire a driver. Rash & Neglient Driving is one of the most important reasons for many road accidents in India along with other factors like no proper saftey precautions, bad roads, drink/text & drive etc. Becuase he is a son of a known person, media is only point it to a tractor..It should be seen from both the angles annedhi na observation which I shared. But if you dissect my post like a post mortem, and find fault then I cannot help. I am saying glass is half full, you are saying glass is half empty..it is how you perceive things. Condolences put at the last or first is defintely on humanitarian grounds. Whatever has happened, it is a major blow for an entire family..there is no two ways about...high profile or low profile..cost of life cannot be quantified. | ||

What difference it makes to tell incidents that happened in 2011 to what happened in 2014? Agreed...yeah most of the times we love to drive our own cars specially for long drives... All said and done, I feel we are in Catch 22 situation in India... I am not that insensitive to make fun of people who lost their lives. It is very sad that he died an untimely death. My actual point was rash driving is what is very common in India..Before we blame the system, let's correct ourselves. Meeru mari vetakaramuga matldhthe..I am will reserve my comments. It is very common that we peak with our family members about the incidents which happen at work place. My brother shared this incident when we were discussing at home. LOL....Firstly I am not here to prove myself that this incident was TRUE and not bogus. Secondly, being a good person does not necassarily mean he is good driver. There are lot of auto drivers who drive cabs in Hyd without even knowing how to drive a CAR...Being reckless, negligent & rash driving is not the same of being down to earth or humble person. Myself and my brother laughed at that time thinking that why cannot he engage a driver instead of bumping into other vehicles. I felt that this was to be shared only to think from the drivers perspective. I am not saying his death was due to his rash driving, but following speed limits will save many lives. | ||

When my brother was SBI manager at Sec branch in 2011, Janakiram applied for a business loan of close to 1 crore. The business was on the name of his father Harikrishna. After all the paper work and preliminary checks were done, the loan was about to be approved. As part of the verification my brother had to do a site visit to the proposed business site. Jankiram drove his car to SBI and took my brother for verification. In the evening before dropping him back to the bank he took my brother to his personal office in Abids (opp. Ramakrishna theatres) to meet his father, Harikrishna for some signatures. He was a very rash & negligent driver. He hit an auto and a two wheeler. Both of them stopped his car and pulled out Janakiram out of his car and gave two blows. He paid money to them and skipped a police case. All this in front of my brother. After my brother met Harikrishna, he said he will go back to the back in auto. The car accidents in which Janakiram, Babu Mohan's son, Kota's son and Azhar's son died might be a mistake of two parties, but our rash driving can impact many lives including our own. Even Jr.NTR missed death in a whisker becuase of his drunken driving during 2009 elections. Media never highlights the faults of high profile drivers (Ram Charan accident was covered without any sound. Mukesh Ambani's son crashed into people was also covered. Had it been the tractor driver alone killed in the accident, Jankiram would have closed the case without any media attention. Having said that, my deep condolences to Jankiram's family. This reason for this major accident could be entirely the fault of tractor coming opp direction and lack of saftey measures on the Indian highways, but drivers having commone sense and controlling their speed is also a MUST. |
