I don't know if I even thought of this while watching the movie, but time-and-again, it appears in the movie as though Cooper, despite having two kids, is more affectionate towards his daughter, and is more protective of her, and his love for her is what keeps him pushing harder and harder to solve the mankind's looming problem. Love is the quintessential force certainly that inspires survival of any species, and even evolution, at large. Love, as a physical entity, a force, I didn't see Nolan attempting to convey that.
As for your question, here's the thing. "They", or even Nolan chose Cooper to convey every single idea in the movie. What Cooper understands, comprehends, what does he do, and what happens to him, is the entire crux of the movie. If Cooper had ever admitted that "They" put the BlackHole, and the Worm-hole, especially in the Tesseract sequence, then may be that is what it is. Dr Brand, and his daughter don't have much significance. Yet another style of story-telling where people may believe what they want to believe, but the maker's opinion is conveyed through the protagonist. "Chill Bro. So long as "They" are a far superior scientifically advanced extra-terrestrial species.. any hypothesis could hold true.. but as soon as "They" are probably advanced humans from the future, the Tesseract design, the gravity formula are may be the limits to mankind's potential. ninna Raleigh wells fargo Imax lo 3:10 show house full. as a believer of cosmology and travelling beyond the galaxies I liked the movie..i did my utmost to understand the movie but exited the theatre with some questions.. i know lot of them are discussed here but i never followed those threads to save my curiosity until i watch the movie.. ok my first q. 1. i didn't get that ghost concept ..when cooper fell in Tesseract he will see through the time dimensions and pushes some books from the shelves and creates some pattern which is read as "STAY" ..in the beginning of movie murf reads that and later realizes it is none other than her own dad's ghost ..
