Temples in Kerala are the best and next comes in TN. The traditions they follow and the people... I have been 4 times to Sabarimala in late 80's and early 90's. Did the long padayatra thrice..It was amazing...When i went no tickets no recommendations..no vips treatment..every one had to trek the min 7 km and they all had to stand in the same line..sleep road side eat road side....Climbing the 18 stesps is amazing....the Idol is amazing and the atmosphere is amazing...haven't been there in last 20 yrs so dont know how much it changed ..but truly one of the best experiences of my life. Cold water bath for 41+ days...bajana every 3-4 days..and then walking bare foot and trekking the rugged hills...You just follow your torch light and taking name of ayyapa...You leave everything on him and walk with a irumudi on your head...Now thinking back dont know how we did it ...Amazing 01/04/2014-161.2 lbs 01/04/2012-187 lbs | ||

I have visited 100s of temples so far but I couldn't get "connected" emotionally or felt overwhelming devotion anywhere except one and only SriSailam! SriSailam is my most favorite place and temple- everytime I go into the main temple I get bombarded by emotions that I cannot explain- the whole experience makes me emotional and each and everytime my eyes get filled with joyful tears! I dint like the atmosphere at Tirumala. It was too commercial and darshanam appudu people throwing you out.... For me Warangal Bhadrakali Gudi top the list of temples I visited. I studied in LB College and temple was just in the backside of college. All of our friends used to visit every other day there. Also, Ramappa temple and thousand pillars temple are good too. Especially Ramappa temple, being far away from city, gives peace when you sit in temple without any disturbance of sounds and commercialisation. Hyderabad Peddamma gudi was too good initially when I was working in Hyderabad and when I visited later, it was too commercial again. For every minute you are angry….. you lose sixty seconds of happiness… | ||

Mi favorite temples and whyyo cheppandi! I have visited 100s of temples so far but I couldn't get "connected" emotionally or felt overwhelming devotion anywhere except one and only Tirumala! Tirumala is my most favorite place and temple- everytime I go into the main temple I get bombarded by emotions that I cannot explain- the whole experience makes me emotional and each and everytime my eyes get filled with joyful tears!
