They reportedly told him that the government is bringing the Bill in any case before the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday and it would remain pending if the BJP does not cooperate to get it passed even if there is pandemonium in the House. The BJP’s worry is that it will lose any prospects of alliance also with the YSR Congress Party floated by the MP son of late chief minister Rajsekhar Reddy if it backs Telangana as it may win more seats than TDP in Seemandhra region if the state is bifurcated. | ||

This is a good decision. If BJP leaders have head over their heels, they will not support this bill. If they want Telangana and Modi as PM, BJP should reject this congress sponsored uncooked bill at this time. I will talk about two scenarios here. Scenario 1 : BJP supports the bill in the parliament and the bill goes through. Congress will make sure it merges TRS before the elections. with the sentiments going so high at this time, With or without any alliance with TDP, BJP will not win even one seat as congress will sweep the polls. As usual hyd will go to MIM. There is a slight chance for TDP to win malkajgiri and Khammam. At the same time in seemandhra TDP will get around 10 seats. so even if there is an alliance between TDP and BJP post elections, their total number seats will be 12 and everything will be from TDP. With the BJP being out of power for 3 terms, it will become non existant in both seemandhra and Telangana. You will have some stupid third front in center, congress government in Telangana, YSRCP government in seemandhra. Scenario 2: If BJP stops the bill now and forges an alliance with TDP. TRS, congress merger may not happen. In this split scenario, BJP has a great chance of winning secunderabad. Malkajgiri and Khammam will go into TDP kitty. In seemandhra, this combine will get 18-19 seats. In total it will be 21-22 seats in the combined state. Now coming to the state assembly, it will be a hung assembly. With the BJP in center, they can convince CBN to support the T bill in the assembly. Even if CBN doesn't like to support the bill, he is forced to do so as that is the only way TDP can get to power after 10 years. After the state split, you will have modi as PM, TDP+BJP government in seemandhra and TRS government in Telangana. At this juncture since TRS didn't merge with congress, there is a great likely hood of convincing them to join NDA as Telangana is given and probably have BJP join the government in Telangana too. It is all up to BJP to decide which direction they want to take... | ||
