england match was turning point for india.. it made karthik and jadeja instead of jadhav and yadav to get into playing 11.. had india stuck to same playing 11..with jadhav and yadav..it may have resulted in bizarre result instead of this close match thanks to jadeja selection is gambling it pays off some time like jadejas .. it wont like karthik .. Karnundi chavuki laksha karanalu annattu...there are lot of if and but's At the end, the top 3 batsmen failed. We had a lineup with credibility that could have chased 300+ very easily. All 3 failed. Even the upper middle order did not have the patience to build a partnership closer to what Dhoni/Jadeja built. Thats where we lost. We could have won with the same 11 combo. | ||

another thing this playing 11 or 12...I felt we had many fielders to hide on some occasions pant, DK - bad outfielders due to WK role all through career (brendon mcCullum, bairstow are two exceptions who are brilliant outfielders) bumrah , chahal* have improved a lot shami, kuldeep..big time handicaps rahul ...outside the circle bad ...not a great arm , dropped two catches kedar ...avg dhoni...byes, dropped/not attempted catches...rendu diving catches ani seppakandi missed Dhawan...who is a very safe outfielder VS was also above avg. fielder (Message edited by humpty_dumpty on July 10, 2019) | ||

Rayudu, Pant ane topic pakkana pedithe.. first let's evaluate the India and England team culture. WC start avakamundu England has batting till the 8th position and everyone in the top was going hard from the first ball.. but WC start avvagane aa strategy backfire ayindi...pitches, pressure situation ni handle chese stokes(he has the best temperament to play long innings) became their main batsman.. not butcher, morgan. They replaced flasher ALI with proper bowler. Manamu daniki reverse chesam.. last one year lo bilateral series lo 5 bowlers with Kedar, rayudu(these two have best temperament to play long innings) tho velli sudden ga WC semifinals lo pant, DK and rahul lanti flashes to vellamu. England loss screwed our team management thinking.. we played with england culture while they started adopting our strategy. | ||

That is even worse that he went for that shot even after spending 90 mins and knowing how important it is to stay. He doesnt have the patience yet. But he has potential. Rayudu has the capability to stay, rotate and hit when needed. He is an innings builder. Thats what we need at #4 when the shit hits the fan. | ||

Very young kurrod.. definitely he should be invested in... but prob after the World Cup.. don’t use age as excuse in wc matches.. we prepare 4 yrs to prepare for wc.. shld not have to test drive kids in the wc... he should have be in team instead of pant if one talk about ODI's ferformance ..because pant didnt played that many odis hardly 7 or 8 before world cup.... rayudu as such is not in that bad form nor that he is in good form.. he just didnt played okaish against australia/nz series both at away and home before world cup.. as far as I remember he had pathetic outing as fielder than any memorable innings. but pant performed well in test series against australia(sydney lo hundred kottadu) may be selectors looked at that performance.. personally dont think rayudu's inclusion would have made any difference..pant performed satisfactorily to me ..he was busy with singles(which I like)instead of playing trikkum triyyum game.. After watching Pant in world cup... i somehow feel Rayudu would have been better.. what we needed was a more stable batsmen... and Pant always looked in a hurry and scrappy.. may be thats what Team management asked him to do.. but he did not look in control of any of the innings... what do you guys think? |
