dont try to fix anything :D .. basically everyone has their own angles.. especially side to side movements.. while walking and running.. the shoes you wear need to support the pressure points... that is how you decide which shoe suits you. not rocket science.. but it does need attention

Thanks a ton.

SO the key is to have the right running shoe, warm up, shin exercises.

Will visit sportsdirect this weekend. Was using normal sports shoe for running.

1 Full Marathon and 8 Half Marathons under my belt with a PR of 1:42..

Platypus:

Especially shin lo bhayankaramaina pain. Is this normal for beginners or is it an indication that I shouldn't run at all? I think I understand ankle pain or knee pain etc... but shin lo pain anedhi vinaledhu. Hence the question.

first know what type of pronator you are..initial stages lo ilane pains vastyai but slowly they will fade away...running shoes are important...as you are beginner i would suggest a good cushion foam shoes...runrepeat.com is your google...running form is also much important...for now start with 5mph speed...slow ga you can increase speed if you are targeting for 10k runs or marathons..only health purpose kante as i said earlier just run on 5mph...

Hydration is also important..you need to hydrate yourself every 3 miles in your long runs..ivanni mella mellaga ardham avutayi meeku..anyways spend atleast 100-120 pounds and find a good running shoes..before that you need to know your pronation...meeru run chesttunapudu evarinaina video tiyyamanadni slow motion lo...youtube lo chaala videos untayi pronation meedha

Mental_sachinodu:

before running.. do a lot of warm up for your shins.. which is tough than it sounds.. it actually takes quite a bit of time for shins to become nimble... the best thing is do a brisk walk for 30 mins before your actual run.. yes 30 mins ... you will be surprised how far you can go after that...

it works even better... if you do a five min sprint and then brisk walk for 30 mins.. before the actual run..

there is a learning curve to these.. both mentally and physically, if you want to put in any decent miles with these...

unfortunately - this is going to take some time for you.

1) you need to make your shins stronger... which also means you cant put much stress on them. What works the best is excercising shins as frequently as possible.. and this can be done pretty much any time and any where.

what worked best is.. lie down straight.. and write alphabets or draw circle with you toes. do this every day twice or thrice...

2) before running.. do a lot of warm up for your shins.. which is tough than it sounds.. it actually takes quite a bit of time for shins to become nimble... the best thing is do a brisk walk for 30 mins before your actual run.. yes 30 mins :-) ... you will be surprised how far you can go after that...

3) after each run... use ice packs on shins...

4) use compression sleves for your shins.. they help a lot

5) use good shoe... and if possible get your gait tested and get a good recommendation for what type of shoe suits you... most running stores do this for free.

6) twice a week, make weight training for your legs a routine.

Even I get Shin pain when i restart running after a break...what I have observed is, as sachin suggested warm ups will be key and also slowly increase the pace and distance...don't try too hard in the first few days...

Yes. Normal for most people. Use compression sleeves for shins.
Something like this.
https://www.amazon.com/Buttons-Pleats-Compression-Sleeve-Wom en/dp/B07CN8FX4Z?tag=slickdeals&ascsubtag=bbffa73471b111e9a9 a582142f90b8d80INT

Platypus:

Is it too late (40+) to start running?

No. But be mindful of your knees. And buy the right kind of shoes. This is CRITICAL.

This world appearance is a confusion: even as the blueness of the sky is an optical illusion. I think it is better not to let the mind dwell on it, but to ignore it.
