while i agree with this skepticism, Indian Air force, and Abhinandan are not different. They are the same, surely he may have made a mistake, but if you are basing your argument, because its Modi's government, then I am afraid, you are as biased as anyone else who uses such a bias. I agree that F16s have been shotdown only a couple of times, especially with MIGS, but there is always an off chance that it may happen, especially, when they are on the retreat. F16 commands alot of price, and I can understand US and its organizations not accepting India's claim, as its a big glow the "brand" of F16 if it were really true. Mind you 4th gen aircrafts were rarely used in big wars, where the opposition had decent air power. Again - it is easy to trace F16s, heck the database is publicly available http://www.f-16.net/units_airforce181.html these are the PAF deployed aircrafts. if IAF had the Aircraft number or serial number, it would have been easier to prove. Apparently "someone" gave a serial number, it was supposed still active with RJAF .. lol.. Anyway - what benefit does Modi or IAF get if they claim they shotdown a F15 vs JF-17 (supposedly the other possibility it could have been). who would care if they claimed it was JF17? | ||

Pak said - we did not F-16s. India said - Pak has used and said that the missiles fired were of the nature that can only be fired from F-16s and we shot one down. India went to the US showing some evidence that Pak is using F-16s against their conditions of usage granted by US. Now US has said that no F-16s were downed.So that means we have: a) not shot down any fighter jet or b) we shot down some fighter jet which was using those AMRAM missiles - but this is not possible apparently as only F-16s can fire those missiles. So what part of this is not understood. | ||
