Currently the new zone only consists of Vizag, Duvvada and marripalem (104 area) train stations. The other 3 stations in Vizag city ie. Pendurthi, Simhachalam and Gopalapatnam are in Rayagada Division. So freight from Bailadila enters Andhra before Aurku and gets offloaded at Marripalem station (Naval 104 area). The railways handover the Iron Ore to VPT at this place. For RINL, the handover happens at a place much before and this is not part of the new Zone at all. So for the new zone, there is practically NEAR ZERO freight revenue. Hence the demand is - keep the line from Aruku until Vizag in the new Zone. Same way keep the lines in Andhra in the new Zone. this way the freight revenue gets divised between ECOR zone and VIzag ZOne. | ||
