hmmm...yeah, the more I think about it, the pros over-weigh the cons. Health insurers can no longer cap coverage. They will no longer say that they have spent enough on you and you're on your own for the next hundred thousand dollars. This should reduce medical bankruptcy. Big pestering thing here is that citizens are being forced to pay for the health care of all those lazy people who don't intend to work and illegal immigrants. Also, not every one needs same health care policy. Many things vary from family to family and its important that citizens have the freedom to choose, for which US always renowned for. Further, the timing is not apt. We are just recovering from a big financial crunch and spending 940 billion dollars for next ten years might not be a very good idea. For people with existing healthcare - the status quo remains ( only pre existing conditions will be change).. people can keep their preferred provider and can do everything they are doing right now. The only change is that, for ppl who cannot afford, govt will provide healthcare and it will do so by going thru private insurers.. only thing is the cost to consumer will be subsidized.. and that subsidy will be picked up by taxes paid by all of us. | ||

How are the insurance companies going to recover the money they lose by being forced to insure those with pre-existing conditions: 1. They get 31 million new customers and premiums are collected by the IRS for them. 2. Rationing and decrease in service and quality of care. This is not about any kind of reform. It's the biggest tax increase likely in the history of the world. | ||

Most of the people have basic insurance or insurance coverage which they feel is a minimum necessity....WIth this new bill, they've gotta pay for all the junk...teen abortion...premiums go up....and you won't be having any right to claim your social security tax amount with this new bill.... this bill will not only cover the uninsured but will force insurance companies to accept pre existing conditions, provide children under family plan untill agre 23 and many more...more....a lot needs to be done but this is a very good step in the right direction..bravo obama....yo da man. health care will becom mandatory once this bill is voted in. For next tax year , assuming you have healthcare , your provider will send a federal form confirming that your insured and you have to furnish that form along with your regular tax filings. This bill will help those people who cannot afford healthcare by themselves or are not covered by thier employers. | ||
