Agree with what you said bro. Like Rajesh said below inta serious movie janalaki ekkaledemo and anyway no one I know heard about this movie in India. prasthanam choosanu ani chepte, ademi cinema annaru. there were couple of scenes I thought are unnecessary like the scene in which the first son meeda bindelatho neellu postaru - like why? All the scenes with the mom are pathetic. She has no voice, no spine - thro out the damn movie she is just a figurehead. other than *silently* feeling bad for way things turned out, she does nothing. I think this movie is a very good example of dysfunctional family. Personally the movie was so full of negativity, I can't imagine watching it one more time. Everyone is screwed up - mom, dad, daughter, second son. the only one with any redeeming characters was the first son. My imaginary friend went away for an year in search of his brain! | ||

Very simple. 1. Kinda of mislead the audience that there is a reason/hate towards his original son by SK 2. The audience should also empathize as to why the son is behaving erratic. Had the director shown that SK's intentions are better for his son, the son wouldn't have turned a psycho and none of the proceedings would have happened. 3. Last but not least it shows that most parents lack basic communication skills when trying to correct their children. Looks like you got confused with plot twists and deliberate plot manipulation . The issue with Prasthanam is deliberate plot manipulation to keep audience guessing . I think it was not suspense...the plot was just manipulative... It doesn't make any sense for the father to alienate his own son from the beginning and then suddenly proclaim love for him at the end. | ||

For me it was totally justified, because he wants to put his own son away from politics.. that why director has stressed in couple of scenes abt the same.. Saikumar asks his own son to check out either he wants to do business or go to foreign for studies.. Not in one occasion this was done twice... At the end when his son was trying to come to politics he declares that his first son would be political hier of him which is also totally justified !!! Dont u think so !! Ofcourse this is not stressed much because they are all internal feelings which come out only during the climax.. If they are stressed then there wont be that thrill element in the movie !! As he was a political leader, he tried to play politics in his family matters too to benefit his own(second) son. And the way director tried to keep it as a suspense till the middle of the movie is really commendable. | ||

adi correct yet kani, the way they show the second son's anger was the kid is seething with anger and resentment. The kid is essential an useless kid and not once do we see a lovey-dovey moment between the kid and his father. Saikumar aasthi dachi vunchachu, assalu koduku politics ane rochuloki rakudadhu anukuni vundachu, but the director didn't show as if Sai Kumar did his job as a father towards raising a good son, or even letting the son that he is loved or even attempt to let his kid know that he is indeed loved a lot, especially if he loved his son so much that he would do anything for him. Prastanam was a good movie but I don't know if this is a repeat watch movie. Why did Sai Kumar treat his real son so bad? It was unrealistic for me that he would be SOOO partial to the first son just b'coz of his whatever aspirations, goals. He was not only partial, he was also demeaning his second son which is what caused all the problems and led to Sai Kumar's unravelling.
