Guriginja, Meeru cheppina prakaram profile batti support cheste, As a woman I should support Hillary, as a minority I should support Obama as a person working for a company that services John McCain and the military I should support McCain Unfortunately I don't think in such silos Women's causes are less important when it comes to president than overall social causes and they are less important than national ones... Why Obama, because then the country can move beyond the racial lines ... california lo Asian voters ni interview cheste vallu cheppina answer - we prefer Hillary cos she's white ...lol So yes to me a black president is a more significant milestone than a woman president As to the other points I already gave you the example of NAFTA - Hillary is making promises she will revisit NAFTA - what's the likelihood that will happen ? aa chal ke tujhe main leke chalu ik aise gagan ke tale jahan gam bhi na ho, aansoo bhi na ho,bas pyaar hi pyaar pale ik aise gagan ke tale http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWUOI_oxeOc&feature=related

Exactly My point. But, media says that the democratic primary turnout is phenominal this time. so may be the Dems have a chance to win a few Red states this time. Obama ki youth turnout(The demographic that normally stays away from voting) bheebhatsanga undi ani media reports. Lets see if these reports are any good. Maccain is not a charismatic personality, we can talk about issues all year long, but at the end of the day, Americans vote for the candidates "they want to have a beer with". So lets see, Hillary or Obama...Dems have a good chance of winning this Election. Think Global,Act Local |

Very Valid points. US Media just gave a free pass to Obama,I guess they were afraid if they would be branded racist. Same is not true when in womens case..Unfortunately as TinaFey rightly said "Women are independent and they are happy to vote for the candidate Oprah endorses" There are not many differences between Hillary and Obama, exept for that Health care plan, Hillary and John Edwards should get credit as both of them worked towards universal health care. Obama just copied the same plan and took the "mandatory" part out. Hillary seems somehow vulnerable in debates because she has a much bigger work to defend, for example her stance on NADO is controversial, Obama annitikiki Okate answer Hope, dream..matti masanam. Hillary should have been little more aggressive in pointing Obama's inexperiance right from the begining. Think Global,Act Local |

Can you name one state apart from the regular blue states which Obama can win for sure? and why you think he will win that state.LOL I don't have anything against obama and don't think he will be bad but vote chese right lekunna..I want a democrat to win this time and I strongly think hillary is the right person to win...beating republican propaganda machine. she has been..or the clintons have been the targets of the most ruthless attacks against clintons, there are no new skeletons to be pulled out that will surprise the voters. Anand_n:
obama speech regarding "opposing Iraq war". As an outsider he can say anything as it costs him nothing and gives him some advantage as a candidate questioning the gov't. But what happened when he got a chance to vote for the iraq war funding? He voted yes for the funding so did hillary. People like Dennis Kusinich and Ron Paul stood up from with in voted against the war and also against the irak war funding. So they stood to what they believed in, but in case of obama he is o sacred to vote against the majority, that is the reason he voted for the funding and did not stich to his "inspiring speech" which he gave as an outsider....adedo sameth cheppi natlu...manadi kaakapothe thatichettuki yeduru dekamannadanta vaadevdoo..ala vundi....this one instance show how he can't act under pressure and do not have the guts to stand up to what he said as an outsider..LOL another good example is the iran vote..hillary voted "yes" for the iran vote. I don't agree with her vote but atleast she came into vote. Paapam mana Obama..yes ante yemavuthundo....no ante yemavuthundo...manakendukule ani total ga vote ni skip chesadu......icchina explanation.." I did not know the timing of the vote". Oka senetor ki floor vote time theleeda....anthakante lame excuse vuntundaa.....this show he cannot stand up to making important decesions and is an escapist...galivatam tho poyevadu...LOL |

anand garumeeru peministaaa.....you have said several times that there is no diff between obama/hillary/mccain, so no difference aythe as a women i would give benifit of doubt to hillary....mari what part of what ever ego are you compromising with to "root" for obama. Ellen degeneres, Tina fey, etc are successful women who have done something for the women cause and they are suppoting hillary. Oprah also has done a lot for women cause. Oprah supported omama ante...anukovacchhu...tholu connection plus she might be one of those supporting hillary. she would definately have not gotten all the media blitz...yemo...repu obama gelsthadanukuntundemo....yedo oka post pattocchu..manaki white hose access vasthundi...anuko vacchu....and i respect her decision completely looking from her point of view...but.....sadarana mahila (mahila ayyi vunte) unless you have your own interests I don't see how women cannont support hillary because she is the one female who came so close to a point where she has a shot at white house...... ...so pinal ga ne seppededante.....oka mahila ga, if I don't see any difference between obama and clinton I would support hillary....what say.. |

>>But my point is whether she chooses to stay in a marriage or divorce has nothing to do with her ability to run the country well... I agree to a certain extent. But many people are not like us. It can be debated. Her choice of staying in with Bill either shows her forgiving nature or weakness to continue alone. In either case would you want that in a president. The reason, I replied to JKM was, he was comparing hillary with cond rice, as if hillary is better, coz she is married whereas cond rice is single. JKM, /**Obama says on "day one" he is going to pull the army out of iraq. great inspiring speech right ? atleast hillary says it will be a process taking ground realities into consideration and it may take upto one year. now tell me who is war time president ?**/ Point is not whether you and I think Hillary is capable of neing a wartime president - we have the benefit of having seen Indira Gandhi - this is a country who is looking at a first with a female president... and that is a common refrain I hear I doubt if they are ready to make that paradigm shift yet - when it comes to picking between a black male and white female - I am thinking the gender will take precedence over race ...I would be glad to be wrong ... Like I said earlier I don't think it will matter much to the country whether Obama/Hillary becomes president in terms of policies - the flaw I see with the Clintons is they come with a lot of baggage and their predetermined coterie from Bill Clinton years, with all the favors owed etc...for e.g.Bill drove NAFTA, Hillary cannot change it significantly even if she wants to ...and there are many such issues ... that is the problem of having Bill there Zulu, You are right McCain is for bringing the troops back home - it was very obvious in his talk the other day |

I am with you. you just spoke my mind. here is an inspiring article to me. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/02/29/texas.clinton.memorie s/index.html this article and guriginja post made me to think further in a philosophical way by comparing with my parents. Bill and Hillary are exactly of my parents age. hillary is elder to my mom. but thats it. only common thing. they are from 2 different worlds. I have never seen amma talking to nanna garu for 5 minutes on any issue. I have never seen amma having lunch/dinner with us. she will eat after my dad. nanna gaaru orders and amma just does it. all that she knows is kitchen, family and god. I think she studied till 5th forum or something. my dad don't have the money saving habit. I can say most careless dad in the world. mom raised us. she use to wake us at morning 4 am during exam time. make coffee and breakfast. my dad likes bed coffee. I don't blame my dad. thats how it is. my grand parents also same. my generation, I think we progressed a lot. be it woman or black. isn't it amazing woman and black running for president. hillary discussing politics with Bill in 1972 . they dated because they have a common interest. in my opinion I think she is better than a single like Condoleezza Rice. not many people know indira gandhi's husband feroz gandhi. I don't talk about Oprah Winfrey. she is not into politics. Hillary is what america need. a caring mother, loving wife, her experience in public life and taking the RESPONSIBILITY. fixing problems. she was a democrat since her school days from an ordinary family. I may not like her on some issues. but honestly I want her to be the next president. she can do better than men like Obama, Bush and also Bill in washington. McCain. ok. still a republican. Bush endorsed him. too old. |

Obama, hilary or Maccain, There are not many differences between them , except for Mccains opinion on the war, but I believe thats a ploy to get the conservative vote in the primary, If he wins, I am sure he will work towards getting back the troops home. If I were a citizen my choice of candiates would have been Mccain /Hillary > Obama One thing is for sure, It is a Liberal Vs Liberal fight this time. No crazy cowboys or Religious fanatics this time. Media was under the impression that gospel guy Huckabey would be the VP nominee, but that doesnt look like the case. So No worries! Think Global,Act Local |

many people still think a woman cannot be a commander in chief in wartime ... >> Obama says on "day one" he is going to pull the army out of iraq. great inspiring speech right ? atleast hillary says it will be a process taking ground realities into consideration and it may take upto one year. now tell me who is war time president ? |

A2J, I don't see a whole lot of difference in policies between Obama and Clinton - I think Obama has a pretty good chance of winning this time ... When push comes to shove , I think the gender bias will work against Hillary with McCain talking about finishing the war - many people still think a woman cannot be a commander in chief in wartime ... |

anand hi, but looks like republicans are voting for obama to keep hillary out ....i still feel hillary can beat republicans not obama...all this talk, change is all good for begginers once in u need substance. its dumb to say my judgement was correct on iraq, basedon inteli at that time hillary-mccain voted for it..saying his judgement was wrong it was fluke. mccain is the kind of guy US needs but it would have been good if was elected 8 years ago i feel VP will be lucky to takeover i feel...he is old, i cant hear voice properly now these are lame excuses though on the other hand democrats are divided so hard reconsilation of hillary fans would be tough i guess do u think obama will win? |

A2J, Attended a McCain meeting the other day - brief to the point speech, very down to earth answers - no rhetoric... but that could be because he was talking to a corporate crowd...Even to the praise of being a war hero - he was very self-effacing - "it does not take a lot of talent to be shot down, I managed to intercept a surface to air missile with my plane " But Hillary/Obama lo ,I think Hillary is fast losing ground...Obama on the other hand is inspiring people to get up and vote - that can make a huge difference - the early voter turnout is impressive ..so anything can happen... |
