sad story... As per news reports, (Ex) In-laws of once popular Telugu film heroine Rajani (known as Sasikala in Tamil) filed a case case under the SC, ST atrocities prevention act citing that Rajani abused them in the name of caste. Rajani was a popular heroine in Telugu and Tamil and she played heroine with most of the top heroes then. She quit movies after getting married in 1998. Recently, she got divorce after filing a physical and mental harassment case against her husband and in-laws. After the divorce, Rajani is living in one the three flats that they owned and one is given out on rent, as per the reports. She has three children. Rajani and her children are surviving on the rent raised from one of the apartments. The tussle started after her ex-husband moved the two apartments on to his mother's name. A civil case was filed against Rajani recently. While this is in court, Rajani's in-laws filed a case against her under the SC, ST Atrocities Act. Rajani is a Brahmin while her ex-husband belongs to SC. The high court stayed any criminal proceedings against the heroine and issued a notice to the in-laws to explain. Argument in support of Rajani is that the atrocities act cannot be used against her as she married an SC and even gave birth to his children. High court ordered the matter to be posted within six weeks. | ||
