For me dance is purely an accessory and not a requisite to judge the quality of a movie. I rate a movie purely on the basis of the script and how steadfast the dir has been in sticking to his conviction. One needs some religious devotion to weave a poetic depiction on screen and that comes from being completely true to your script and also being intelligent about it. Arya2 is a confused movie from the outset whose flow is paradoxically hindered by both occasional brilliance and a repeat offender called naivety. Its not cheap or stupid but at the same time not something that will stick to your imagination. Heroine's depiction is a total washout and for a romantic story it is almost a cardinal sin. Its well known that most of the Telugu(Indian??) movies depict a woman in the basest possible form thanks to the filtration of western media into India. The heroines character in this movie is almost C grade. There is definitely some thought that has been expended behind the hero's characterization and that is visible in patches but in order to pack as many commercial elems as possible, the dir killed the soul of his character by dealing with it almost inorganically. | ||

saw the movie on saturday along with my family. The Theme that is: It is the tale of a man hooked deeply onto little and specific relations in his life and hooked to a degree wherein his longing vacillates between possession and obsession. In as much as I understood the premise of the script writer, the plot was supposed to be woven around the guy who forces people to accept him as a reality in need of both solace and identity. His struggle for his identity with people who capture his attention in short is the saga of this orphan. The act with its cast: In parts would make you stand up and expect something spectacular to unfold. The first 30 minutes of the movie is very insipid.The characters rush as if they sprung into some sort of inorganic action and start evolving their own subplots around the protagonist. The problem with a script of this sort is its exclusivity. There should be some standout sequences that drive home the premise behind the protagonists action. The directors skips the beat at these crucial junctures and as a result confuses himself and the viewers. Having said that, this is by far one of the most refined enacts of AA. He gave himself into the hands of the director as an actor should do and melded his body language to his vision. His dancing is just exceptionally slick. I think by far this is the most graceful dancing in the recent times. Jr NTR has some catching up to do. AA has just raised the dacing bar some notches with his every random but jazzy hoop. Kajal is a complete redundancy. There is neither closure nor a vivid definition of her personality. One would actually be indifferent to such a portrayal of a woman. Her character comes across as a weak, identity riven individual. Navdeep was good. There is not too much that was expected out of his depiction and he faithfully stuck to his realm. Comedy between the lead pair is the only existent one and its almost common place. The missing links: If there was one glitch that could have killed such a script, it was the naivety of the vision of its creator and unfortunately that flaw is vividly portrayed in this movie. This movie is a classic case study of confused narration that is a byproduct of adulterated narration trying to comply seemingly uncorrelated elements. In parts the movie is exceptionally original and in parts grossly naive and that is the story of Arya2. The director wanted to pack a lot of stuff in seemingly small portions and as a result lost the plot in between. There nothing intelligent about this movie as a concept. There are parts of it which are intelligently packaged. First rate performance by the lead actor and some exceptionally slick frames are the strengths of this movie. This is one kind of a movie which wont bore you, for u never know when the next spurge of the unpredictable would arise but at the same time wont leave an imprint owing to confused vision of the director. A decent pick for a one time watch for the normal public. |
