another instance: my certificates (marks lists, bachelors+masters) were lost in usa. so when i visited india, applied for them. for both the certificates they asked bribe. i was reluctant to give bribe. i told them that i will wait till the certificates are issued. after 2yrs, i visited again...then also same...again bribe...so i told them that i will wait. after a year i visited again this time they were very happy to give the certificates and they were relaxed after handing the certificates to me. | ||

der...you were lucky to get the backdoor entrance to get the passport. I had similar situation and tried all possible routes (contacted local agent, some officers in the office, and tried to bribe) but nothing worked out. did not pushed further but the next day came to us and got the passport in one day. stop blaming the system, not sure about your situation but if you were in the same situation as mine (see below), you should have got it here in usa instead of bribing and encouraging bribing. (passport was expiring in few weeks and unfortunately did not noticed that and traveled to india). | ||

I met the RPO(the highest authority in the office) and told him my situation and he immediately agreed to issue me a new passport given the fact that I have a valid passport already......that indv is a very honest man and an IFS....tatkal can be applied for a fresh passport too...there is no logical reason behind clubbing an applicant with a valid albiet damaged passport with that of a fresh applicant....coz in my case, there is virtually no necessity for a background check....if everytime I apply for a passport, if they keep performing a background check, there is no point in issuing a passport...its an identity | ||

No jokes brother and I am not TDPian. If you would have seen the Motoring office opposite to Eenadu office Somajiguda before CBN took over, and after he took over you will not speak again. Atleast driving licencing part was regularised and were being issued without brokers at that time. Dont know if it was maintained later. But all brokers were sent out of Motoring office campus. | ||

Usual route lo ayithe neeku 30-40 days lo without any bribes passport vochedhi. You wanted fast track process because you delayed to things form your end and waited till last minute. So, they fined you unofficially. You are happy that your requirement was met and they are happy that their requirement was met.... I dont see point in crying out on system. Its first you who tried breaking system and they have been in the system for quite long and know the system better than you. So, they explored your needs as well as loopholes in the system. I got my license in India without paying any extra money 7 years back. My wifes driving license was rejected 6 years back inspite of me offering bribes as she failed the practical test. My sister was selected as Group 1 officer without offering any bribes and she is as per ideals. This all was 5-6 years back. And I think things should have bettered by now because of technology invasion. Better be proud of progress we guys are making rather than crying on system for ourmistakes. No offence for the original poster. Just ,my thoughts. | ||

I was given an appointment at 9.30AM....I stood on the road from 9AM...then they let me in...at 10.30AM...then stood in the queue for another hour..then was let in....then waited another hour inside... While I was sitting....people wearing uniform, actress kavitha, some minister's nephew walked in...and all the people were sitting around them as if they descended from heaven... Atlast my turn came at 3.30PM....yes.....if u leave the office premises once, u are not let in again...so with no food and water waited from 8.30 to 3.30.... then when theyn asked me all these stupid Q's and when I asked to see the RPO...they asked me to wait...and started processing people who came after me and then finally at 6.30PM.... a guy comes in and says.."thammudu US vellatam antha easy kaadhu passport ravatam!!!!!!!!!" | ||

A valid US visa...... A valid passport that expires in 2012 A letter from the consulate asking the passport officer to issue a fresh passport immediately... Hyderabad RPO is a very strict man....doesn't heed any attention to recos etc...felt good... stood in the general inquiry for 5 days from 8.30 AM to 3.30PM......wanted to stick to the rule...... in case of a genuine urgency, tatkal can be laxed.....happened to meet the RPO on the 5th and he was generous enough to relax the tatkal date and told his deputy to grant me a passport on 7th ..... went to the pp office today with all documents...then the lower officials started raising issues abt the fact that I need to get an address proof..... I have been in US for almost 5 years now and I asked them how can I verify my address in India???? Then they asked me to bring a bank statement for the last 2 years in India....never had a bank account in India.....I asked them how do u expect a student residing in US to maintain a bank account in India??? then they threatened me that they will file my passport app as defective one...I said I will meet the RPO again...they said he will off duty for the next 2 weeks and so...if u indeed want some progress...give us 200$.... I had to bribe them today cuz I need to leave early..... I am ashamed of the system in my country......why are we so selfish.... |
