Elca, I read a story in the NYTimes on how India is lagging with the infrastructure build in Delhi for the commonwealth games. It seems we are way behind and people are working 24*7 in 3 shifts. Apparently whoever whoever visited and had a lot of criticism on how delhi is dealing with the construction and one of our honorable ministers suggested to Delhi public to stop public spitting and urination and improve the image of New Delhi. That made me laugh really hard . Delhi is a mess at this time with all the construction going on. Going anywhere takes hours. It took us 3 hours to navigate 10 kilometers. And the city is superbad but for the india gate and all those sections. At raj ghat there were so much spit of pawn on the walls it was just disgusting. Almost feels as if people did it on purpose. | ||

Greece ended up with huge after hosting olympics. I don't knwo how Chicago would fare. It's a lot of spending on infrastructure. I guess it's time for Obama to pay back to Illionois for fostering him from his baby steps in politics to white house. He has to go personally to give his pitch. I think Chicago will win the bid. Some locals believe that the hosting of the Olympics wud be more of a bane than a boon to chi-twn. Chicago is the front runner in this rat race ... but history suggests that the I.O.C usually gives a cold shoulder to the top contender. Lmfao a website is called http://www.chicagoansforrio.com/ where chi-twn locals are cheering for Rio to win. Many worry that the repurcussions wud hit the tax payers hard ... but mayor Daley n Obama think otherwise - that it wud not "cost the people a single dime".
