I thought about it a lot. She had a point. Her analysis about my personality - Around 90% accurate. I had never been able to share my feelings with anyone in my life. My life, to tell you the truth, is not in my hands. The sad part? I have no idea who controls my life. All I know is - things just happen in my life. I have no control over it. At least not if you look at the thirty thousand feet view of my life. "Platypus" my boss started the appraisal session. Just as I expected. I smiled - "Do you want me to say sorry?" He laughed, "You'd do it on the discussion forum. Not here. You are very fortunate Venu. As a rule I don't let my personal grudges affect anyone's appraisal." I walked away with a B+ rating on my appraisal. I was satisfied with it. Sindhu wasn't. "You worked like a donkey! Look at the number of Telnet windows on your desktop. Thirteen!" I politely tried to explain a basic fact of software life. - The appraisal rating never depended on the number of Telnet windows open on the desktop. It is half an hour now. No sign of her. The security guard manning her company front gate is looking at me sympathetically. He knows pretty well the routine. I pick her up and drop her in her house near the beach everyday at 7pm. It has sort of become a routine. "What kind of a name is this? Platypus!" In fact I had managed to live in complete obscurity for exactly ten minutes after she landed in my cubicle for the first time. Then she answered the phone and shouted "Platypus!" I looked at my watch again. I had been waiting there for a little over half an hour. Well, maybe I was there around fifteen minutes early. Still she had not turned up yet. Girls you know, are the most complex organic substances in this world. Of course they are pretty good to kiss but then pretty damn impossible to maintain a working relationship with. For starters, they don't believe their watches or the grandfather clock in their house.
