this technology is already in place in chennai where there is actue water shortage. its called "water desalination". is that different from what you are talking.. i heard this is very costly thing, and not cost effective...to produce one liter of drinkable water from sea water is more costlier than 1 liter mineral water bottle anukonta...correct me if i am wrong.. www.prajarajyam.org - syntax error, unexpected | ||

any of the fans have connections with the current govt or atleast can get the top notch leadership to listen to a social projects proposal i can connect you guys with the people here i was invited to a demo of a prototype of this project over the weekend it's pretty amazing in what it does it's a filtration unit, which purifies sea water and makes it into clean drinking water and also powers up a whole village so the by product is salt and energy which you can use to power a village and the main thing you get is clean fresh water saw a demo with 100,000 gallons a day which does the mentioned two things above they are still in the final stages of testing, they have aid from world bank and grants well each unit costs about 600k and there is no further maintenance of replacing filters and stuff like that the only close rival to this is a GE product which is 1.8 million and it doesnt produce energy and the filters are expensive to replace the whole unit fits in a pickup truck so if any of you really want to make a difference to their village and have some demos arranged i can hook you up they are looking to visit india in jan of 2010 |
