Yeah. The OCI card is not the Indian passport. OCI card is a booklet of about 6-8 pages or so, whereas Indian passport is more than 30 pages. Filmfan, again on agricultural land .... OCI card holder's parent can buy agricultural lands and pass it on to OCI card member as inheritance  | ||

nenu early 2000 lo dual citizenship ichinaar ani BJP govt jabbal chariste nijam ga icharu anukonetodini.. but never read in detail. my cousin got oci for her and kid once they become citizens.. so she said she received indian passports (green of course) .. i thought it is again a alternative way of citizenship of origin country.. they say we are OCI citizens and we did not loose anything.. blah blah.  Later I took this half cooked knowledge info into my brain and defended it until death.. I get the truth now.. lost a debate.. and my situation is  YSR the future of Haritha Andhra Pradesh! | ||

also you are not supposed to buy agricultural land (but who cares) --- ayya idhi OCI tho relax chesaru anukunta please check....I'm not 100% sure.. dual citizen ship is not possible with india......OCI or PIO are just like identitiy cards and are not travel documents on their own....they need to be accompanied by your present nation passport.... there is no official dual citizenship program with india for any country, oci is nothing but lifelong visa to visit india and it is unofficial citizenship you cannot vote and compete in elections in india, also you are not supposed to buy agricultural land (but who cares) | ||

What is India's stand on Dual citizenship? Why we brought up this PIO and OCI concept? When did this start? For those who took this OCI/PIO, what did you think about when you received one? Just answer this question from top of the mind? "Did the OCI provide a way to keep Dual citizenship even though it is not fully dual citizenship? Did you feel it like a card or visa?"
