got an email...... Dear exhibitors, We would like to get to the notice of all the exhibitors about the unethical practices of FICUS. We all should stand united to protect our self, our interest in cinema, save the cinema industry and to fight against the fraud. 1. Ficus has bought 7 to 8 movies in USA, almost 90 % of the exhibitors who has screened these movies have ended up in losses , where as Ficus earned money., The reason for the loss of the exhibitors is due to irresponsible, greedy, quick money in short time by FiCUS. 2. In many areas They promised to get the print for premier show and they send the print with a delay, this resulted in huge loss for the exhibitors, by paying theater rents, and return/refund tickets etc. 3. When this loss exhibitor calls for the next movie with the intention that FICUS might give a deal due to the previous loss, they will ignore the calls and would'nt care to return the calls or emails. 4. When they get new movies they will search for new exhibitors without considering the fate and loss of old exhibitor. They are not corporates, they try to imitate and act like corporates. 5. The best example of their victim is that of a exhibitor in New Jersey they sold movie âoyeâ for $ 30,000 and they did not support the exhibitor with a single po 6. They use a tie up technique to sell movies, they pressurize the exhibitor to buy flop movies or unwanted movies with a fake promise that they would get the next big banner movie and will give it for less offer, instead they look for new exhibitors for the big banner movies. 7. For any information or clarifications they will not lift the phone nor return calls or emails. 8. They took partial refund from AD Labs for the flop movies and they never passed that refund money to exhibitors who incurred losses. Example Los Angles , New Jersey distributors â¦â¦.May be you will be the next in line. 9. They purchase a movie which is almost closed by someone ,paying 10 lakhs more, which is in turned sold to us for high price, they are passing their high bid money on to us. The best example in recent times is, blue skys had deal with ek niranjan producer for 72 lakhs, and ficus over took paying more 15 lakhs, this burden is just passed on to every distributor. This mail was to make you realize and get you educated on the malpractices, unethical practices of FICUS, the consequences faced by the exhibitors. We should all stay united with hand in hand and fight back this kind of business practice. In these economic crisis nobody is willing to risk a $, we can control this by all of us staying together. Today its FICUS, tomorrow some other company might come up learning from FICUS and we cannot take this any more, we lost enough and cannot spare a $ more. We have come up with a plan to teach a lesson to FICUS, taste them how loss pain's. We will upload the movie ek niranjan on to the web with good dvd quality after 2 days of movie release, so beware!!
