Why people tend to go after someone that ignore them n their luvvu.... Why do people tend to ignore someone that crave for their company and take em for granted.... why is it so complex to accept the reality and settle down with someone that luv u than running behind forbidden affairs that lead to nowhere... The complexities of love and the complications of relationships r portrayed so beautifully in this movie...Two Lovers... The movie starts with phoenix a uth suffering from bipolar disorder trying to commit suicide....he is rescued by some passers by and he reaches home and we come to know about his dis order....to add agony to his situation he had a bitter relationship with his former fiancee who ditches him b4 marriage cause she wasnt ready to accept a fcked up husband....Disturbed by it he goes to depression and now n then tries to kill himself..... unsuccesfully..... His parents own a succesful dry cleaning business and to help their kid they try to hook him up with their frens daughter...sandra.... Sandra gets attracted to phoenix and phoenix feels like he found the right one.... And when everythings going fine he comes across michelle,his next door mysterious n gorgeous neighbour....He falls for her in first sight...begins to stalk her and slowly befrens her....More and more he starts to hang out wid her the more mysterious she comes to get....And finally she opens up and says she is having an affair with a high profile law firm owner from manhattan....that dude is old n married n has grown up kids....And she says she cannot leave him for phoenix....So phoenix tells her to fck off and he goes back to sandra....their relationship deepends....and her family accepts him n they all poised to get hitched.... At this point...phoenix gets a phone call from michelle....her old boy fren ditched her n she is hav ing a mis carriage with no one to help her even to take to a hospital....Phoenix realizes the potential of that oppurtunity....runs for her rescue and takes her to hospital and gets her cured....In the mean time she breaks up with her boy fren as he is not ready to leave his beautiful family for her..... So their they are.....with no holds barred....nothing stopping them from gettin together....So phoenix n michelle plan to leave NY to SFO....And start their life together there....Michelle has nothing to lose...But phoenix had to leave his parents,sandra and above all a very promising future and a beautiful n relaxed life for michelle.... Is he going to do it??? Or is he going to get cold feet n back off? Is michelle cimmitted for this relation?Then Whats goin to happen to sandra??? Its a very simple plot...But what makes it appealing is the lead character phoenix through which these layers of complexity were portrayed...acts so well dat not once in the whole movie u will find him like someone cravin for pity and hate him(which happens most in such plots).... The movie is hsot exceptionally well....the dark backgrounds perfectly complement the mood of the film...Manhattan never looked so depressing.... The movie belongs to phoenix....His performance in climax is for ages... The scene when his mom finds out that he is leaving them forever and confronts him....its masterfully done....very simple n real scenes like that makes this movie very refresing.... Must watch for serious cinema lovers.... |
