I see the usage of phones/laptops much more these days. They want to communicate with friends 24x7, putting their life (every minute) on orkut/facebook. I don't understand who gives a sh1t as what you do every minute of the day :-) Aren't there important things to do? Like finding stable job/updating the skills in demand? Back to OP. So what is your point there? The new immigrants are discriminated and denied opportunities. If these are few cases you came across, I can accept. But, don't generalize. simba, those of us who came and went thro lots of hassles react like this when we see the younger generation do things differently from us. I don't know if it's generation gap or change in perspectives current lot of kids do things differently than what people did 8 to 10 years ago. I think Indians as a society are rather apathetic people. I don't know if it's b'coz of the zillion languages and castes we have or if it's b'coz of the rampant all around us while we were growing up. Everyone has the "me, my, I & my family & my close friends" attitude. May be that attitude is b'coz we haven't suffered like the jews did in a holocaust. We don't empathize much. We don't gang up on anyone who ridicules our gods. We call ourselves progressive and let one any say anything about our culture, our gods, etc. If Shilpa Shetty was on big brother in US and was called racist things, I don't think the Indians in US would have been outraged as the ones in UK did. Look at how we don't worry about Indians on talent shows. Either it's b'coz most Indians have no time to watch these shows or we just don't give a $hit, we simply don't vote for a Anoop Desai on american idol, even if he is talented. OTOH, blacks will gang up to vote for lil rounds week after week. Anoop Desai losing on American idol is just a small example. There are a ton like that. We overall are a loser bunch. | ||

I have seen many GC holders or citizens who hate fressh immigrants from india. They start blaming them for everything by forgetting that they also once came in same path. Also they feel that this new immigrants are taking their jobs. They support all laws which are about get implemented on this new immigrants to keep them from becoming GC holders or citizenships. They never try to understand new h1b holders problems. They start laughing on them when they see them working hard. Most of desi companies which are owned by gc,indian born us citizens really screw fresh immigrants. Is it same with all country born usa gcs,cs holders or only indian born?
