Ideally our client would like make this position contract to hire, but they will consider direct hire as well. The base salary for this role is between $90k and $115k (roughly). Sybase Database Administrator Description: Our client, one of the leading email service providers located in the Western suburbs of Chicago is looking for a Sybase Database Administrator. As a Sybase Database Administrator, your responsibilities will be planning, developing, implementing, and supporting database systems and related technologies. This position provides database systems that fully support the requirements of the client's business processes, applications, and systems. This position is also accountable for establishing standards and best practices for database administration. Requirements: * 5+ years of experience in database administration. * Experience with Sybase ASE versions 12 to 15. * 7+ years of experience in information technology. * Technical knowledge of relational database management systems including database management systems (DBMS) configuration, DBMS internal structures, physical database design concepts, database access and query languages, and DBMS administrative tools. * Strong DBMS performance and tuning skills. * Hands-on experience with shell scripting languages and operating system or database utilities. * Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with database query languages including SQL.
