CUDDAPAH: The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Monday assured Krishna river water for Simhadripuram mandal within next three years to ensure long-term development. Addressing a gathering near Simhadripuram bus stand, Dr. Reddy assured Krishna water for Gandikota reservoir through Pulivendula Branch Canal. Work on another canal at Lingala would begin in a month, he said. He assured permanent drought mitigation works, insurance facility for citrus plantations and water supply to citrus trees to prevent them from withering away. Dr. Reddy assured housing for all homeless persons and roads to all villages. At Rayalapuram village in Simhadripuram mandal, he assured its development as a model village. He laid foundation stone for Rs. 133-crore modernisation works of Pulivendula Branch Canal, a high-voltage distribution system costing Rs. 16 crores and a 33/11 kv electrical sub-station costing Rs. 97 lakhs at Rayalapuram. Water scheme opened The Chief Minister inaugurated a Rs. 14-lakh protected water scheme at Balapanur in Simhadripuram mandal and laid stones for model village development works for Rs. 24 lakhs, Rs. 62 lakh road from R.G. road to Lomada and developmental works worth Rs. 6.50 crores at Ramapuram, Balapanur, Inagalur and Urupur villages. He inaugurated a 72-house colony costing Rs. 18 lakhs at Ankalamma Gudur and a tank work costing Rs. 15 lakhs. He laid stone for a road from Ankalamma Gudur to Sunkesula costing Rs. 2 crore. He laid stone for an R & B road costing Rs. 1.29 crores at Agraharam and a PWS scheme. He inaugurated a housing colony at Agraharam Harijanawada and Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple at Nidivelagala village. Dr. Reddy laid the foundation stone for Kasturba residential school, a beedi workers' housing colony at Simhadripuram, R&B road costing Rs. 74 lakhs and inaugurated a mosque. He launched works of model village. He laid foundation stones for a Gandikota lift-irrigation scheme and Rs. 1.14 crore Mangapatnam ghat road development at Pydipalem. He also laid stone for an R & B from Pydipalem to Sunkesula costing Rs. 2 crores. The Minister for Major Irrigation, P. Lakshmaiah, the Minister for Agriculture, Raghuveera Reddy, the Cuddapah MP, Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, and others were present. Rajampet MP, A. Sai Prathap, ZP chairman, K. Suresh Babu, MLAs, RTC regional chairman, Dwarakanath Reddy, Collector, G. Ashok Kumar, Rayalaseema IGP, R.P. Meena, SP, V.C. Sajjanar, also took part. Foundation laid The Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Monday laid foundation stones for various developmental works in Pulivendula town on Monday. Dr. Reddy, who arrived by helicopter at Pulivendula two hours behind schedule, paid homage at his father, Y.S. Raja Reddy's tomb on his seventh death anniversary and laid a wreath. His mother, Y.S. Jayamma, wife, Vijayalakshmi, and daughter, Sharmila, also paid homage. The Chief Minister laid foundation stones for Y.S. Raja Reddy ITI and a training centre, hostel building and additional rooms in Ravindranath School being built by the YSR Foundation. He inspected Raja Reddy Park being developed on the Loyola College premises. The Minister for Major Irrigation, P. Lakshmaiah, the Cuddapah MP, Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, the ZP Chairman, K.
