He is barely 30 years old. Son of a Panchayat Raj employee, Dasari Kiran became a Chiranjeevi fan after seeing Khaidi. He became a member of Chiranjeevi fans organization in 1996 and a president of Chiranjeevi Yuvata of Tenali division and then Guntur district. Distributing tickets to the fans when the heroâs films release, holding rallies and taking up many service oriented activities were part of his work. Talking to this blog, Kiran says, âour entire team held free medical camps, blood donation and eye donation camps for almost 13 years and strengthened Guntur district, made it a role model for service activities in the past 6 years. Chiranjeevi would tell others to emulate our district and we would feel very happy.â Kiran says he had toured all the 57 mandals. Each mandal has 15 villages and we are in touch with every village and any problem in any house we are always there for them. He had even left his engineering midway for the fans activity. Kiran has been in the news of late for joining Congress and for being appointed as the Youth President of The Congress in Guntur district. He narrates the sequences that led him to actively participate in the Congress but affirms that he was, is and will always be a Chiranjeevi fan. In Kiranâs words, âIn jan 2007 some political leaders in the congress in order to gain local zilla president posts involved themselves in our organization, called themselves Chiranjeevi fans and created a disturbance. They even saw to it that the real fans would not get the tickets on the day of the release. They even threatened me, tried to kill me and to combat them I needed political help. Personally I like Jagan and most of the Chiranjeevi fans are Congress admirers. I met Jagan and told him that I wanted to get into Congress. Chiranjeeviâs political entry was not discussed at all till December third week 2007. By then I had already made up my mind to join Congress. Lot of people complained to Chiranjeevi but he didnât care. I had completed 13th year in the fans association.â Kiran is hurt that people cast aspersions on him and labeled him as an opportunist. Manishini kosthe raktham vosthundi, kulam kaadhu. Naga Babu told me to resign, Jagan deggara pani cheyatam istam ledu he said. So I stepped down as the fans president. Abhimanam veru, rajakeeyam veru.â Kiran talks about his encounter with Jagan, âMany Cong leaders, sitting MLAs opposed my candidature and told Jagan not to take me as I am a chiru fan, I went to meet him with 400 people. He is always surrounded with 10,000 people at his home, even in the night at 10 or eleven at pulivendla. He first asked me if I had lunch and took me in his vehicle to his home and introduced me to his wife, âBharati, Kiran is a hard core Chiru fan. Na meeda abhimanam tho cong join ayyadu. Ippudu kooda he loves Chiranjeevi. Bojanam pettu.â What more can you ask from your favourite leader? | ||
