I do not think there actually are a real believer.

Disagree, though your definition of 'real belief' might be different from mine. Science and Faith should and more importantly, CAN go hand in hand. They are not mutually exclusive. Of course it depends on your belief system.

but at the same time I quite know that it is irrational. but i wish i overcome that and try for that

Here's a thought for you - if you are fully aware it is irrational , and develop the ability to observe that irrational feeling rationally , you will be fine :-) Because as you watch yourself , you will become aware of your your irrational reactions realtime and slowly the autopilot moves from the irrational to rational - and then the irrational portions left are the ones you consciously choose because you enjoy those - not something you cannot prevent :-)

if we can live like other animals, its ok, may be we dont need to control or predict things( even here it would give more survival chances if things are predictable though). if we have any affairs in common with others how do we buy others' views?

we are no different from animals.....even they try to control.......nothing wrong in control but how do we know we are doing the right thing?......is there something right or wrong?......if there is some direction in life and nature we have to check whether our desire to control aligns in that direction ....currently, we have no clue.... It seems God or higher principle has abandoned us, we are confused and clueless

why an individual, state has to control others unless they are going against the natural justice as perceived by human insticts.......trying to control nature is happening since the dawn of civlization....it's nothing new nor it contradicts Dharma if the results are not against natural justice......we don't know the balance between our desire to control and the threat to our existence......we are now confused and lost the fundamentals

Nisarga:

1) bashing science in favor religion and beliefs while enjoying the benefits of science
>>This doesn't happen too often right, I think people can distinguish between science and religion.

2) supporting our favorite politicians/film stars despite the fact that we know they do not deserve the support/fame/respect they enjoy or they can never live up to our expectations.
>> I feel the same but I think such folks start treating the people they adore as their own family and hence expectations don't figure out in that equation.

3) praying to God or supporting religious chores despite the fact that we do not actually believe in them. I do not think there actually are a real believer.
>> Most people do it either because they believe or because they want to keep someone happy.

Anyway, once i like someone, i stand by with them no matter what.. whether it is an artist, sportsmen or anyone else - I don't see any thing wrong with that. I believe this is called 'unconditional love'

dont take it seriously or personally. I too kind of have that unconditional love or something like that toward some people or views :-). but at the same time I quite know that it is irrational. but i wish i overcome that and try for that :-).

in experiential world your experience or belief is yours and mine is mine. it's ok as long as we live in them independently. but if we have to convince others or buy others' views or control others there is no way other than proposing something like objective truth or inquiry.

after trusting many inquiry systems man will reach a conclusion that all of them are useless and draining his energy......but to reach that conclusion he has to go thru that process.....then he gives up and surrenders to his destiny or god or nature and feels like his presence or absence doesn't matter at all and he is a prisoner of unknown.......just know this much

right. that is in experiential space. but to predict or control things to our benefit we have to depend on something like science.

in experiential world your experience or belief is yours and mine is mine. it's ok as long as we live in them independently. but if we have to convince others or buy others' views or control others there is no way other than proposing something like objective truth or inquiry.

then what's the question.......why should you claim one experience is better than other........one can believe in whatever he is comfortable with.....science can't claim any superiority

I don't know what do you mean by religion here......if it's just going by instincts and feelings, science also originated from the same instincts......so it doesn't make sense to see them as complete opposites.........science at its present core is just quantification of experience and its theories also derived from many assumptions

Bossu, like that there are many other things, like "there is no such thing as love" etc. it is a belief, a tradition, as long as it doesnt harm others, it is ok. believing in religion is not hypocrisy.

not to hurt anyone, but just to understand and figure out the discrepancies in our beliefs, thought process and behavior etc....

here are some i can think of:

1) bashing science in favor religion and beliefs while enjoying the benefits of science
2) supporting our favorite politicians/film stars despite the fact that we know they do not deserve the support/fame/respect they enjoy or they can never live up to our expectations.
3) praying to God or supporting religious chores despite the fact that we do not actually believe in them. I do not think there actually are a real believer.
