sports or other research stuff meedha interest lekuntay.....1000 hrs pettinaa kooda, no use. end result same like any average kid in this world.
to be a champion, one needs to have passion and interest. adhi parent encourage chesthey raadhu.
Needless to say here, every human (including 13 year kids) have same hours in a day, same days in a year. okadu 1000 hours spelling bee ki spend chesthaadu, 90 others watching tv, playing video games ki spend chesthaaru, inko 9 mandhi some other useful stuff kosam use chesthaaru. No one talks about those 90% kids. success ayinodini redicule cheyyadam comedy. Spelling bee lo toppers, usually ends up attending top universities in usa. Stop thinking spelling bee as useless stuff. Those 90% kids, who dont spend 1000 hours on spelling bee are usually ends up as below average students |

Brown people straight up owned the National Spelling Bee this year. Did you see how many contestants in the top 10 were Indian? I thought I was looking at ten 7th grade pictures of me. I think one of them might have been wearing the same tucked in black jeans I had too.
But this beautiful moment goes beyond just brown people winning a contest. Brown people, whether they be Indian, Pakistani, Bengali, Arab, whatever (we're all the same yo, in this together) - were colonized by people who INVENTED ENGLISH. Then we immigrated to their countries and got mocked and ridiculed for how we speak it. And here we are in 2013, at the highest level of competition, ON PRIMETIME ESPN, straight up dunking on these fools.
Not ESPN2, or ESPN Ocho, it was the main ESPN network with all these Sports Center anchors doing the play-by-play. It was majestic, with all these badass montages and epic music profiling each speller. It's the 6th year in a row a brown person has won the national spelling bee. Is there any more majestic way to tell the entire world that we've arrived?
And did you see how much swag the Indian kid who won had? All this confetti started falling from the ceiling and everyone in the audience went bonkers… and there he was just mean-mugging the camera with no emotion on his face. It doesn't get any more gangster than that.
All those mopped floors and drive-thru windows that parents like my dad and others had to grind through, is paying off with astronomical dividends. The kid who won now has an insanely bright future after taking home a $30,000 grand prize. Before the contest, I wouldn't be surprised if that kid got teased in school for being nerdy, but now he can walk up to all the haters and shut them up by shoving a $100 bill in their mouths.
