After a lot of hesitation, former Telugu Desam Party minister Dadi Veerabhadra Rao came to his native Visakhapatnam for the first time after joining the YSR Congress party only to get cold reception. Except a few YSR Congress party leaders and their followers owing allegiance to Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari, not many party leaders and cadres accorded welcome to Dadi at the Visakhapatnam airport. The initial plan, according to the directions given by the YSR Congress party central office, was to give a rousing reception to Dadi, who was supposed to be taken in a massive rally form the airport to Anakapalli by road, where he would formally take over the party acitivites. But there was no such hungama at the Visakhapatnam airport. According to sources in Vizag, only the Sabbam group comprising a couple of constituency in-charges and their followers came to the airport. They put up banners and flexi boards welcoming Dadi into the party. From the airport, he was taken to a local city office of the YSR Congress party, where there was some gathering. He addressed the media praising Jagan and his leadership capabilities, besides attacking TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. "The entire Konathala Ramakrishna group stayed away from the induction programme of Dadi. It remains to be seen how the situation would be once Dadi enters Anakapalli," a party source said.
