Srinu Vaitla is able to spin the ball effectively. Sometimes the ball is in the director's court. Sometimes it is in the audience' court. But the crystal ball has spoken. This is a hit movie. The makers did have balls to conceptualize some of the puns on the senior industry folks such as Ball-a Krishna but all in good fun. I had a ball watching this movie, literally. So what is the story? Pretty simple and straight forward actually. Imagine a snooker table full of balls. Now NTR is the white ball. Kelly Gorjee is the black ball. Then you have a whole lot of colored, striped balls to deal with. NTR hits most of those balls out of the court quite effortlessly - which in fact leaves us wondering why those balls were in the fray at all... But as I said earlier, "all in good fun" - Bad balls keep coming, get their balls smashed and hit out of the stadium. All kinds of balls actually... some bearded balls, some balled balls.. i mean bald balls... No matter how big or small the ball is, the treatment does not differ. NTR must be commended that he is actually an equal opportunity ball smasher. He does not discriminate. All balls must be dealt with in exactly the same way. Out of the park. Some sooner and some later. While we have seen NTR in similar roles before, here he makes sure he does not completely hijack the script. This is a whole new ball game for him. He lets Kajal have her screen time in the first half and Brahmanandam in the second. Srinu Vaitla falters in some areas but manages to keep the ball rolling all the time. He could have done away with 90% of the 1 dimensional slime balls from the script because, let us admit it, other than Kelly George and to some extent Ashish Vidyarthi, the remaining 9 billion slime balls are no balls of fire. NTR, MS Narayana and Brahmanandam jell well together and have the viewers by the balls most of the time. That's the way the ball bounces you see. My verdict: Good. PS. If you are disappointed that I have not talked about Kajal's philosophical interludes in my review, you need to read it again - read between the balls. Thank you.
