as i a iphone owner/user, i can say it's pretty expensive for the very few features it has. No video recording, cannot play streaming audio (what's the use of internet), internet pretty pathetic, cannot save photos from picasa etc to the iphone, no FM radio, NO VOICE DIALING as well. 3G iphone is $30 extra for data plan that does not include the SMS plan (prev iphone data plan had 200text messages free in that 20$ plan). inka decide for yourself  | ||

true. but these days most of the places, stores, they are offering free wifi spots which you can use. whereever you go you see atleast one open wi-fi network. | ||

kani deni valla use emuntundi , every time you need to be either at home or office mostly .Akkada manaki etu computers untayi to access net .Data plan unte u can access from out side , actually thats what we want from the Internet phones kada . But regular phones kanna I-phones ela koni t-mobile plans tho kuda use cheyachu ante cool. | ||

yes, you just continue your t-mobile plan whatever you have..thats it... neither t-mobile nor applie/att will know what handset you are using since its unlocked and you will be using the wi-fi to browse the internet which purely handset functionality NOT the carrier functionality. i just brought the used phone yesterday, and not yet "jailbraken" that. there is no SIM in that now, i am just using it to watch youtube videos and internet without any problem. i am using my home wi-fi. | ||

so, for people who are interested in iphone, but don't want to pay huge monthly bills, just buy a decent used one and "activate" it if you have ATT sim card or unlock it if you have t-mobile etc. you will just continue to pay your same old monthly bills (only for voice) and enjoy internet, youtube with wifi, and music and rest of all the features of iphone. | ||

ninna velli oka used iphone konna..(not the new 3g..its 2gen phone) konni nagna sathyalu. 1. if you want to buy iphone from ATT store, you must take data plan along with voice plan. i guess it comes to close to $70 p.m. depending on the plan. You can use wi-fi or EDGE to browse the internet. Wi-fi is phone feature, so no separate charge for that. 2. if you buy a used phone from someone on ebay or craigslist - - if you already have a ATT sim card, then you just need to "jailbreak" and "activate" your current sim card with the used Iphone. there are lot of softwares available on net for this purpose. typically when people brought the old iphones officialy, they were activated through "itunes". since you are going to use your existing ATT sim card, you need to bypass this and activate through some softwares available on net. with this you can continue using your current ATT sim (which has only voice plan), you can still browse the internet with wi-fi, listen to music, etc, etc.. - if you are having any other sim card like from t-mobile etc, or take it to india- then you need to "unlock" the iphone before using. popular softwares for jailbreaking, unlocking softwares: ziphone, iliberty+ | ||
