I am not in total disagreement with the hike in price of power. Please note these points. 1. The prices of power have not been increased for a long time, during this period the prices of everything and incomes have gone up. Even the cost of production of power has gone up, the price of power has not increased, to compensate that a steep hike in price of power is done. We are paying for what we enjoyed all these years. 2. If the power companies are not compensated for their losses, we run the risk of making them bankrupt, we may have no power. 3. Instead of investing in power plants, the govt has diverted the funds meant for investment as freebies to us. The power cuts we are facing today are due to the discounts in price of power we enjoyed these days. 4. Power is the lifeline of modern life, we must ensure that there is a continuos flow of power.for that we have to pay the price I am Totally in agreement with this.
