that's mom life. Kindergarten ki inta research and head banging emitoo. KG ki private schools/10k+ fees overkill anukunna all these days. But no choice i guess. on top of all these, if you opt for after care (until 6 pm) then NO School bus. We have to go and pick up the kid from school. WFH job or housewife type setup vunte tappa difficult. NOt sure how all the working couples manage.. | ||

my kids are going to Catholic schools fourth year now.. they do not have to baptisize.. they do have religous class in curriculum.. there are some good things they learn from it.. i do not think they talk bad about other religions.. maku ekkuva italians untaru.. only thing is thellola kids konchemu slow down laga untaru.. as every one said.. they will have some discipline atleast at school.. yeah initial ga valu konchemu influence avutharu (first months lo ayithe maa vadu preacher avuthanu anevadu) but as time passes they know the difference.. mana identity, mana intlo paristhutulu, achaaralu, pandagalu, dhevulla perlu, temples, telugu channels.. ivanni valaki thelusu.. they know the difference now.. manamu ekkuva alochistamu.. kids are very smart.. they could analyse well and have an opinion.. andhuke maree chinappude ekkuva push cheyakudadhu.. slowly they will understand.. kids attitude is always to do other way what you say.. just let them be what they are.. always explain, bring them to discussion.. and let them figure out.. do not push or stress on them.. | ||

dont agree. they teach 'how to think' about something. yes, the activities are a bit too much but a young brain needs that activity to keep it engaged. and monte- impact first 2,3 yrs lo kanpinchadhu. after that, you will see them suddenly that much better at picking up any new concept. and the kids are incredibly confident when dealing with adults. nenaithey too much impressed. dabbuluntey atepe.  balupu s/o gelupu | ||

Some schools like Montessori are reasonable....when you compare with after day care cost + Kumon type supplements, the difference is not much, curriculum can be far superior and you don't have to worry about school hours/closures.

yeah K dhaaka public school undadhu kabatti - good private schools better. most catholic schools pre-K will not be full day. so stay at home spouse untey, ivi OK. if not, you are better off with a montessori, which will be slightly more expensive. but I have been very impressed with the monte- kids. worth it. balupu s/o gelupu | ||

Some schools require the kids to be baptised - so first check that out We send our kids to public school so do not have first hand experience of the schools here , but I went to convents till 8th std. So for the rest - it depends on how much influence you and your social environment have over the child's belief system as compared to the school and how religious you are and how much you are able to supplement the religious education of the child.. if you wanna go private, look for a montessori. catholic schools tho tricky situation. even if they are not overtly religious, their teachings will have an agenda - and that's fair for them because they are open about it. if you are OK with that, well and good. Imagine a jesus photo next to your Hindu Gods and your kid visiting church on sundays. that 'will' happen - some are cool about it, some are not. My daughter goes to Catholic School (she is in Pre-K). Overall we like it, discipline baga enforce chesthaaru. its a knife which is powerful at both edges type. if you can spend considerable time with your kid (who goes to govt school) that is enough. if you are conscious about strict discipline and don't care (or prepared) which religion your kid follows when she/he grows up then send to catholic school. | ||

Public school in our school dist is not that great as per reviews/ratings/word of mouth. So we are left with 2 choices. 1. Charter school 2. Private school Admissions in Charter school are based on lottery. Applied but can't depend on it. most of the private schools are catholic affiliated. So wondering whether any of you here sent/sending kids to catholic school Pls share your feedback/exp etc. End of the day kids intiki vachi 'halaluya' antaara?  |
